Why every minion with this keyword have pretty good cost/stats ratio? Like 2/3 for 2 mana, 3/4 for 3. This cards give advantage in late game while being actually good for tempo. So maybe make them weaker in early game?
Because sell good card, make good money. Sell BETTER card, make MORE money.
Any questions?
When they come down, they’re just vanilla minions. You wouldn’t play a 2 mana 2/3 vanilla without tribe. The imbue is what makes them playable. We can argue about Flutterwing Guardian, because he has 2 other effects. But Bitterbloom Knight isn’t even a good card. I don’t think imbue minions have overpowered stats.
Sidenote: There is no 3 mana 3/4 with imbue.
Edit: Goldpetal Drake exists.
there is no reason to
Goldpetal Drake in Paladin.
Oh, you’re right! Forgot about that guy.
However, that doesn’t sway my opinion. Imbue stats are fine.
Because imbue is literally weaker than Wildfire.
What makes imbue something strong is the amount of imbue cards played together and not their individual Power.
It is like saying why jade idol cost 1 If jade golens can get really big.
Mix that with most imbue cards being at worse a 2 mana 2/3 and you have your answer.
This is part powercreep and part Just adjusting to the reality of nowadays card design.
Otherwise we would still have Gross cards like lich Cross Stich costing 5 when even the buffed to 4 mana version see no play.
2/3 for 2 and 3/4 are OLD vanilla stats. A modern 2 cost is more likely to have 2/4 or 3/3, while a modern 3 drop would have 1 more attack and/or health than the vanilla 3/4 or vanilla stats + some effect like a battlecry. As others point out, powercreep is a thing. The 4/4 divine shielded imbue minion is pretty fair when compared other current 4 mana minions, but I can see it being argued that it’s a tad strong for a neutral 4 drop. The only 3 drop that I would say is a bit of an outlier is the paladin’s Goldpetal Drake, because it imbues twice if not silenced or morphed.
Not really because this is a too obvious form of powercreep.
With few exceptions not even blizzard would do that. In part even because a 2 mana 2/4 would still be unplayable garbage because this game is effect oriented.
Meanwhile, aggro priest playing a 1 mana 2/4, but we got a topic complaining about a 2 mana 2/3.
They already are weaker in early game, low level imbue is weak as can be.
You’re welcome, citizen.
Because its 2025 Hearthstone not 2014 Hearthstone. It costs stats by 2025 Standards. A normal 2025 minion gets you better than 2014 Vanilla Stats + Discover + Tribe + something extra like Taunt, Life Steal, Divine Shield, Ect. Imbue minions only get you 2014 Vanilla stats + imbue which needs to stack a few times before its even worth the cost of the Hero Power. So you have to play a few subpar minions by Modern Standards before you get to spend even more mana before you start getting payoff.
