Why don’t streamers care about bad starting hands?

Upon mulligan they’re left with cards that are over 4 mana and just draw into more that are over 4 mana. Later on turn six you’ll see them draw something 2 cost like the rushing deathknight hound.

Are we playing the same game here? Thats a backwards draw and anyone who knows anything knows that the game is over at that point yet they don’t say anything or show any emotion.

Recently i drew backwards playing pirate rogue against a favored matchup and i knew the match was over in the mulligan. Why? Am i dooming myself with thought? Am i playing poorly? No… my 2 cost and 1 cost minions are at the back of the deck thats all.

They genuinely have no reaction to having literal 7 costs in their starting hands. And YES they lose the game and NO they never mention how it might’ve been a bad opening hand…

Almost as if nobody wants to admit that its all in the heart of the cards

It’s a card game. It’s random. You can have a bad mulligan and still win the game because you have the right cards in your hand later in the game because you had them in the mulligan. You can have a great mulligan and still lose the game because the cards you drew in the following rounds were bad.

Besides having high cost cards in the mulligan does not mean the same for every deck type. For an fast aggro deck it’s bad. For others it may be good.

Because it is their own fault.

When you understand that something is random you either eliminate the possibility or Deal with it being able to happen sometimes.

No middleground.

Because they play so much they grew tolerance on bad beats like that, as they saw them thousands of times

idk how many starting hand combinations are possible, I’m too lazy to calculate, but I think with around 500 games on a deck you’re pretty stone-cold no matter what happens

Even with a bad hand someone can still win.

You haven’t seen a “Bad Starting Hand” in a CCG until you have played MTG and never draw any land or mana resources. Even worse was back before the multiple mulligan rule. High level games were simply decided by who did or didn’t draw mana to play the game. At least in HS and other CCG’s the resource equation has been solved with time lock mechanics. So given time even a bad opening hand in HS can turn into a great hand.

What’s the point of this thread? Yes they lose if they play badly. It would be interesting if they didn’t lose.

I’ll say it as many times as I have to, the more absurd power creep that Blizzard allows, the more apparent and less able to be mitigated the power of RNG becomes. It drastically shortens the time you have to luck out, and makes the starting hand matter more.

It’s now to the point that the matchup will be almost entirely decided by what you are put up against and starting hand. That’s it, game knowledge and skill take a backseat to this level of power creep. I would say the most absurd thing about the power creep is that they have not raised the base HP to keep up with it. (There is a reason almost everyone played Renethal when they brought it back temporarily)

Yeah, that’s not what they said at all. Unless you’re implying that skill will give you better mulligans.

A bad starting hand may result victory as well… You never know when your enemy has a bad starting hand as well. Can be problematic, annoying thats for sure. But don’t need to be angry or sad because of it. Sometimes you have a bad starting hand then start to draw only good cards. Anything can happen in this game.
