Why do people say ''well played'' when they win but not lose?

And why do most people concede just when i’m about to end it? They save like 1 or 2 seconds  Are most hearthstone players in that much of a hurry?

I also notce that lots of players like watching the rope burn and emote every turn. Some kind of pro elite tactic to win that i’m not aware of?

I always concede at the end.

Yes, to save seconds.

I don’t concede much. I like to see as many cards from the other persons deck that I can. If they choose to play it longer then I’m okay with that.

As for saying “well played”, if I feel the game was indeed well played then I say it regardless of the win or loss. If I think it was just completely one sided then I don’t say it at all. It doesn’t take a genius to win a one sided battle.

I do say “gg” every game. That is just common courtesy.

If I enjoyed a game, I’m definitely saying well played after the end, win or lose.

If the winner says “Well Played” it tends to be received “Haha GG Noob” rather than a respectful end to a game. If the loser does it, half the time they receive some form of BM in return like Greetings or Threaten. So I mostly don’t bother doing it at all unless I get a Well Played in a game I thought was pretty competitive.

I will sit through your obvious lethal, but the second you start playing cards you don’t have to play to get there then I’m out. If you rope me and then go for lethal I’m out. Respect my time or I’m out.

I almost always well played and then concede. Sometimes I let/make them kill me if I wanna hear a particular minions sound effects or I think the player earned it, or I suspect they’re doing a quest.

I say well played if someone says it back to me or if I think it was a really good game.

I’ve had people say it to me for both occasions.

Emotes are stupid. Trying to assign intelligent meaning to them is a waste of time.

It turns out they are playing their game and not yours.

You know why emote spam doesnt exist? Because squelch DOES! Seriously, I almost always squelch at the beginning of a match but I have forgotten sometimes. And for all the times I have since the games launch, I could count the number of times I’ve seen emote spam on the hand of a leprous worm.

I concede just before they land a killing blow for two reasons: 1) To not give them the satisfaction 2) Because it angers the anti ropers greatly, sometimes to the point where they come on the forums and complain about it.

Emotionally disturbing your opponent counts as a tactic, just like in poker.

Because most ppl dont want to celebrate losing. ITs just human nature.

You shouldn’t auto squelch your opponent because not everyone bms

When I see it was well played, I use the emote.

When I am done by turn 7 against DH or Hunter perfect draw or being mauled by 4th DQA against rogue that was able to generate over 40 additional cards… not so much.

When the enemy indeed leaves when I am about to swing lethal in the face I’ll say a ‘thanks’ for saving me the seconds.

Well played is in response for a fun thoughtful game

They are saying it to themselves. as tapping on their back

“hehe I played well. you lose sucker”
that’s how I view it

Because the only way they can bring themself to be a good sport is when they win. It essentially means “it was a good game, because I won”. People concede because they dont want to sit and watch the winner go through the motions and most likely pull some BM.

I was hanging around to earn more exp. And let my opponent defeat me.
But now I have the original 9 heroes at level 60.
