Why do people play meta/net decks in Casual

Why not play creative, self-made decks instead of these Legend #2 copy pasted Pirate Warrior or Questline Hunter decks (just examples, this is not made from bitter experiences) in casual? Like, you know the deck you are playing has the capability to win in a competitive mode and it makes casual kinda boring when you whip out your niche Corrupt Priest or (old) C’thun deck and you’re put against big man Murloc Shaman or something

Just have some fun and let your creativity flow in Casual, there’s over 1000 cards in the game, so many decks you could build, yet you go for the same deck everyone else is playing on ladder, but in Casual instead for some reason

Edit: Okay so people are thinking I mean ‘play the decks I want you to play’; my main point here is you should play crazy decks in casual, it’s a shame people are playing decks they either didn’t create or already know are really strong - with the exception ofc for ladder anxiety (understandable I’m the same) or you’re trying out the deck for the first time

Some use Casual as a way to try out a deck before committing to climbing Ranked with that deck without risking their Rank.

Others just want to quickly complete a “Play 3 games with Class X, Y or Z”, “Play X beasts/spells/whatever” or similar quest.

And then there are the decks that just build themselves, some of which are nearly indistinguishable from meta decks.

Finally, Casual doesn’t mean “No meta decks allowed”, it just means “Constructed decks, no ranking system”.

i don’t play casual often, so this is conjecture. i think people might be trying to learn the deck before taking it on laddrr, to reduce the loss of rank accrued from the learning curve.
like i said this is a guess, i could be mistaken.

These can all more appropriately be played at rank floor where you’re not deliberately ruining a casual player’s experience

At the end of the day it’s whatever, it’s not like these people are drowning puppies so I won’t crusade against them.

But I WILL match pettiness with pettiness and rope/BM to my heart’s content if I come across some sleemo with a t1 deck in casual, and I shan’t apologize

I don’t understand why the expectation is that the significant majority of players in Casual use homebrewed decks. I think it’s projection. There’s players that have ladder anxiety. There players testing out decks new to them. There’s players that have other reasons. And all of these players have as much every right as the homebrewer to partake in Casual.

I don’t understand roping them. Whose time are you wasting? Clean up with them if you can, try to have an enjoyable match, or move on. I don’t understand roping in Casual as nothing is at stake and you should be roping in Standard for more XP.

Whenever you see a ladder deck in casual and you think it’s not fair, just concede on turn 1.
In this way those people will just waste their time trying to find an opponent; of course, if you play the game regardless, you are part of the problem (assuming you don’t want to play against ladder decks, if you want to there isn’t a problem to begin with).

What I fail to understand is why some people in casual play ultra aggro decks: if the game ends in 3 turns, you get few XP and you aren’t gaining anything.
Do they like to play against AFK players? I don’t understand :joy:

You need to list the only decks that you think your opponents should be allowed to play.

I used to play meta decks in Casual because I didn’t want to risk losing rank with a class I wasn’t good with while completing dailys. For the past 2 years, I basically stopped caring about my rank and just take whatever deck into ranked ladder. I pretty much don’t play Casual at all any more.

Because they want to

There is no need for a better reason

so you want people to not have fun with the decks they enjoy playing in casual

and get bored playing decks you want them to play

I didn’t play on ladder for a very long time because of anxiety. This didn’t stop me from playing and playing against popular decks in casual though. These days, unless I’m on a rank floor, I’ll use casual to complete quests quickly. If a top meta deck gets the quest done quicker, so be it.

You could always play duels. It counts for all your daily’s and weekly’s and you will see much more variety in decks.

How do you know they copied their deck rather than coming to the correct answers through their own data and research combined with trial and error? You honestly don’t. You’re making an assumption about where the deck came from.

Again, people are playing decks they want to play. The fact that you don’t want to play against them means you should research the concede button or build “fun and creative” decks that take down the decks you don’t want to play.

The greatest strength of casual is there is zero reason to stay in a game you don’t want to play. I sometimes have to queue two or three times to find an opponent that I want to play when I go play in casual. I don’t want to see your hunter quest or your priest deck. At all. Not worth the time or effort, so I instant concede.

There’s nothing wrong with people enjoying whatever decks in casual and I hope they enjoyed their free wins.

Lol this is so bitter what was the reason

Ask yourself the same question.

I did broski, this post was made in good faith no need to fill it with your negativity

You are salty about what others play in casual and blaming others for “negetivity” which suggests you should reread your op and and ask yourself, again,

When I am learning a new deck, I will play casual. Even if its a meta/net deck, tier 1, I’ll still play casual so I can at least get a feel for the deck before I jump in ladder.

If it bothers you just do what DLMdD suggested and quit on turn 1, no harm no foul. Doesn’t bother me when I queue up a meta deck in casual and people insta concede, hell i half expect it.

To be fair, if i want to play pirate warrior in standard, every deck will be the same since there is only so many options

We get it, you’re bad at the game.
