You either bought too many Runestone or not enough depending on how the rigger is feeling and the current value of having Alexstraza hero in the lobby compared to the other heroes the rigger put in the lobbt depending on everyone’s Runestone value.
I dont play bgs anymore but i play a lot of bgs and Bob is ruthless
He will give you all the cards you need for a build and then you get to tier 5 or 6 and he just wont show you the cards you need anymore. Even if noone else is playing the build xD. He loves baiting
There’s a couple other heroes that work well with Dragons but really the strength of Dragons is their early tempo and ability to scale out from tempo without pivoting to a new build. Just try them with any hero is my suggestion and you should do fine.
With the recent buff to C’thun i decided to try my hand at a semi dragon comp last night. Picked up the Smuggler portrait Trinket and went from there. Enchanter on 5 then Key Chain and that was pretty much it for the lobby.
Maybe spend a little less gold hard rolling, and spend a little more gold hedging. Bob can’t deny you your build if you have pieces of every build in your hand. Stop thinking of early strength as a gateway to later strength, and instead think of early strength as freedom to invest in econ and/or pivot.

Holding cards for transitioning is definitely a weakness of mine that kept me from breaking the 10k mark
I got allie and bumrushed to tier 4 and got 2 persistent poets, it was GG after that lol
dragons are still bottom tier.
bring back paper drake so they actually have real early game tempo.
That or finally buff kalecgos because he’s the worst dragon in the game and he’s a 6 star.
Should be moved to Tier 5 with less stats IMO. Need a new Tier 6 dragon that is build defining but less APM. The real issue with Dragons is their reliance on getting a poet ASAP. If you don’t get one it’s basically no go .

kalecgos used to be a win con with the naga dragon but that card was insanely broken with a multitude of non-dragon builds

Removing so many BC minions didn’t do Kale any favors either.
Economy minions were gutted this patch minus barrens brawler and the 2 cost naga that gives a coin.
They kind of needed to be. Early economy was allowing accelerated tiering up. Made the game just a race to who got better economy on the opening.
TFW they give you a free skin for Curator and they haven’t successfully given you Curator ever since you got the skin be like:
Didnt they change that hero’s power super recently? It used to be an awful one off where it gave you random 2 dragons when you reached tier 4? so essentially a nothing hero power except for that one turn. And now its a useable power, it can give you a random dragon each use? I could be wrong on the details but I find the new version to be infinitely better than the former version. One off Hero Powers might as well be powerless ones. Reno, the piggy bank pirate, et cetera. (had to spell that out so you didnt confuse it for ETC lol)
Yes, it’s a 1 cost discover a Dragon power that becomes active when you reach Tier 4. It’s far better than it used to be but in some lobbies it can come online too late. More importantly Dragons are unplayable without Poets unless you are doing an off meta split build.
well aware of the uber rare poets… lucky to find them by turn 12 some games if at all
