Why do developers keep pushing Taunt Warrior?

Every single year i noticed that the idiotic developers keep pushing this archetype which has proven to be a massive failure(last time it was good was quest taunt warrior back in 2017 )but they keep wasting design space to push this boring and underpowered archetype. Are these developers just too stubborn to realize that its just something that doesnt work or are people actually enjoying playing this archetype thats why they keep printing and creating taunt warrior cards??

Well, they really designed themselves into a corner with Odyn. It’s one of the best, if not the best, win conditions ever printed. They’ll have an extremely hard time giving control and slow Warrior decks anything that will shake that up.

Right now Odyn Warrior isn’t really visible and I’m pretty sure it’s just because it’s hella boring when your strategy is the same for every game. At least Rainbow Mage gets disovers and Infinitize before they play Sif and win. Warrior doesn’t have that.

The only nerfs the deck got were one Armor off Craftsman’s Hammer swings and Sanitize to 5. Those are hardly crippling.

Actually…

I saw somebody on YTube explaining Warrior cards and how they were made for bomb warrior. He showed all the cards from badlands and you clearly see bombs in all those images. His guess was that last minute they changed it to taunt, while leaving the bomb part out for x reason.

If it’s underpowered then why do you care? It doesn’t affect you. Not all cards or archetypes are for everyone and that’s okay.

Jokes on them, there is taunt/bomb warrior in Wild  though it does make one wonder what could have been.

If Boomboss had support, it would be actually stupid.

maybe they are not pushing it for standard play, they are pushing it for the fun value perhaps?

It’s definitely fun. Big minions are big.

sometimes the point of things being done in video games, isnt only about being the best rank

The Warrior flavour for this expansion is dynamite. They’re a mining class and the TNT/dynamite is just their mining theme, it doesn’t have anything to do with the bomb warrior archetype at all.

“idiotic developers”?

this can only mean one thing
you lost to it

thats the only reaon i can think for someone being soooo angry about the devs releasing a fun archetype which didnt take over the meta

im hoping for the rest of the support to be added to core ive been having fun in wild with cards like bulk up and stolen goods(which can be a bit better than last stand (barely)

Currently having a lot of fun and success with BlackRock ‘n’ Roll Warrior. Just hit Diamond 1 and have a 60% win rate over 20 games.

I typically stay away from Warrior and in general don’t like Taunt Warrior as an archetype. The original Quest Warrior is probably one of my least favorite decks of all time in fact. So while I certainly wouldn’t mind if they stopped pushing it in the future, I am still finding this particular iteration quite fun.

Right? Right?! This summer I went to ice cream maker to buy some ice cream for myself and imagine that! They had strawberry ice cream there! STRAWBERRY!! Every single year I noticed that the idiotic ice cream makers keep pushing this flavor which has proven to be massive failure! Gosh!

Exactly my words, bro! No matter they got there some twenty other flavors, but such a waste of space with so boring flavor as a strawberry!

Yea, I told practicaly the same to the ice cream maker. Next time I will show him how to make proper ice cream! Those amateurs…

No way. I can´t imagine there are such morons who would enjoy strawberry ice cream. Can you imagine?! STRAWBERRY!!

Er… that’s just the theme of “excavating”. I doubt they redesigned the entire warrior set after art was done.

Taunt Warrior might have some legs post-rotation after a lot of that Sig mage (and maybe Odyn Warrior – depends on core) tools use rotate.

I think a major unintentional problem, is ‘intentional’ or not. The “buffs” left all of warrior’s good mana turns at 4. And the other half at 3

Half of the lists want to play the steam elemental on 3, blackrock on 4, But the payoff axe is being cut off from the more successful decks. And even with testing too, i noticed it seemed to get cut off a lot, or reserved to singletons.

The deck lacks solid t2 plays and t1s which aren’t helped by turn 3 and 4 passed. And the “buff” removed one of it’s only “good on 5” taunts outside of the 5 mana 5/5 dragon that conditionally gains +2/2 rush.

If axe had a “If you are holding a taunt minion, this costs 1 less”, it could solve a lot of problems with it being cut from it’s own lists.

If Taunt warrior had some kind of echo firefly, or holes in it’s 1 to 5s filled. It could be less dependent on such feast or famine cards.

Ideally you could try and make more flexible counters. But a lot of titans, intentional or not seem to devour it.

Because the developers push filler archetypes on purpose to lower your expectations, and praise them when they decide not to.

This expansion’s archetype is filler because last one wasn’t. (Odyn)
The same way Mage’s last expansion archetype wasn’t and now is, and they didn’t even bother buffing the cards that have seen 0 play.
