Can we get an option to turn off animations? There’s nothing more frustrating in a Battleground than watching the timer tick down as these stupid useless animations play. I don’t need the flashes, I don’t need any of these that generate this latency.
I just want to play my cards, man.
Please let us turn these things off already. They don’t add any value, they only add frustration.
As much as I’d like to have more time to play some turns, animations do add some value to the game, at least in feeling.
I’ll make the comparison with pokemon games that allow you in certain versions to remove animations during combats.
For sure they become faster. But when you don’t want to play fast combat they become less entertaining to watch. I feel like BG would be the same. Turns when time is not an issue would become less appreciable.
Not only that but it does raise the question of fairness toward the other players.
If you choose to skip the animations, you will have more time during your turns. More time that your opponents wouldn’t have to perform the same actions during their turns.
Players shouldn’t have to chose to lose quality in animations to gain efficiency by fear that the other players will do it and have an advantage during stressed turns.
“Keep good looking visuals to enjoy the game, but lose against players who don’t, or play a visualy boring game to have the same chances as the other players” Either choice is bad
But if they remove animations, how can mill decks use the rope burn exploit? You know, while the “animations” are going through, they’re still playing cards until you a) concede, b) they mill their whole deck and you lose somehow, or c) they do massive damage and you lose.
So in short, don’t hold your breath for no animations. It’ll upset the whales with little to no lives who spend $$$$$$ on this wonderfully designed and programmed with no bugs, bots or flaws of a game.
There’s no exploit in playing your cards in time and having the animations taking longer to play.
If you played the card, you played the card, why would it be cancelled ? The time of animations running after the turn of a player is not deduced of the next turn of their opponent.
If they removed animations, those decks would be able to play even more cards in the same allocated time because no animation would come to slom them so that’s even against your whole argument
Short answer is, no never absolutely not sorry not sorry but yeah no. I absolutely hate the animations and they’ve caused me more losses than I care to admit I’ve played. Nobody on the HS team would ever ask the devs to make the art team obsolete and the art team would probably walk out if they did, unfortunately. It really shouldn’t completely hijack the board though, it’s incredibly disrespectful for the gameplay that’s promoted and required for some of these comps.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. And I’m a flying unicorn that farts pixie dust and rainbows. Only those who abuse the rope exploit scream that it’s not an exploit. It’s an exploit, plain and simple. And this wonderfully programmed game developers know this, won’t fix it because the whales would boohoo if they did, so they claim what you claim. “The aNiMaTiOnS” excuse every. Single. Time.
Not playing that deck and I don’t care about it.
But if you don’t even try to explain why it’s an exploit people are not going to follow your claims blindly…
plus if you remove animations, that deck will be even more powerful so please put some order in your thought process so we can understand you
Not when a card you picked from the tavern sits off to the side of your hand while animations play repeatedly, and then you can’t play it because it took forever for them to cycle through.
Your opponents are playing with the same limitations. It’s far from perfect, obviously.
Some animations are longer than others. Some compositions are more affected than others too.
IMOHO only the high ranking players are truly hindered by animations. The rest of us play so slowly in comparison that it’s almost always our fault if the animations result in a negative play.
It would be nice if all the animations took the same (short) amount of time. Mid battle animations too.
