Why battlegrounds was rigged

Edit: Deleting my response cause starting these kind of debates never ends well.

Since we know everyone around here has pretty diverse and strong opinions when it comes to these matters, I would suggest sticking to the (extremely absurd) topic the OP meant to discuss.

We don’t condone burning people at the stake for acting weird or murdering them for worshipping the wrong god. We don’t blackball or jail people for being socialists, and we don’t think metal music is turning our kids into satanists.
So when was the point in society when we were more tolerant of people’s opinions?

Bitcoin over the last few years must have been a very emotional rollercoaster for you, then.

Unironically, a lot of people have dedicated a large fraction of their lives to mining it. Even more have dedicated their time to the manufacture of the equipment that makes Bitcoin mining possible.

But I don’t think that there’s anything special about Bitcoin compared to anything else that’s manmade, but the point I’m trying to get at is that everything that is manmade that I consume, I try to take a moment and be thankful for. Someone somewhere spent some of their limited time in this universe on making that product possible. Some part of their time = human life. I look at a pimento cheese sandwich and I see human sacrifice, and even if it isn’t very much sacrifice — it’s not like said sandwich is expensive, we’re talking a matter of minutes here — I’m nevertheless grateful.

This isn’t a right wing idea. As far as I can tell, the first person to think such thoughts was good ole Hungry Santa himself. It was Karl Marx who identified that the true currency of any economy was not money, but human labor. It is the sanctity of capital, by virtue of the fact that people sacrifice their very lives to create it, that made Marx so angry that control over it was concentrated in the hands of the few. I don’t know if I agree with all his rationalizations that come after, but as far as the emotional impulse that started him on his journey, I really get it. What I don’t get and can barely tolerate is this champagne socialist handwaving that these manmade goods are ā€œmereā€ property and are as nothing before the value of human life — by which they always mean their own lives, and decidedly NOT the lives of hardworking people spent to make the things that make their cushy existence possible. Such bromides display a jawdropping ignorance of how the sausage is made, an ignorance that would have taken even Marx’s breath away.

No to most of that. :sob:  :sob:  :sob:  :sob:

I’ve had my suspicions of this for many months already and can really see what you mean (assuming you aren’t just trolling people).

Anyway, I wasn’t sure it was just me being suddenly terribad (~7k rating) in certain games and then being terrific good (1st) almost one game after another, but I told myself ā€œOK, perhaps there’s a way out of the 8th place I don’t seeā€. No reason to complain and be the daily l2p issue from a sore looser.

What motivated me to write this reply, is that actually I played a game (after losing like 2-3), where apparently the system had picked me as the winner. I wasn’t even trying, I picked Flurgi just to have fun and lose with my murlocs. But something strange really happened, I was so sure I was going to lose anyways, I played sloppily, even went AFK for a turn. But then, I noticed that I wasn’t losing by much or just drawing. I was last, but I decided not to turn the computer off and see what happens, but still played badly, meaning I had like 8 unplayed cards on hand, gold not spent, even with only 5 minions for LOLs and just draws …

I received all best cards possible, even like 3 quests from selling the dude that gives me buddies + Brann. I had like 40 gold (the quests were picked automatically as I ran out of time but they were actually completed next turn :o) in the last turns and wiped everybody. I was like WTF, I had only 1 murloc with poison and somehow my cards managed to kill a dude with baron, also poison and shields. The fights were veeeeery favorable to me. My minions sniped all their key cards, and I always ended up winning.

I guess that’s the other side of the coin, if the game picks you as winner, there’s almost no way you’ll lose. In the same way, when the game picks you as a loser, no amount of skill is going to save you! I didn’t like to be handed a win(1st place) without even trying …

Btw, I’ve not spent a cent on the game. My guess is that they make f2p players ā€œfeedā€ p2w ones, so they can rank up higher and faster. I seem to be capped at 7k, then doom games start to show :[

The first tell of your outcome is that when you went up a tier, you were getting cards of that tier the same/next turn. Based on our finding so far, this is a reliable indicator of what to expect for the rest of the match, but just one of many variables.

its easy to see its rigged, just watch ā€œproā€ players streaming like, shaddybunny and rdu. and ul see , almost every time they get a triple, the game offers them the best minions depending on their warband, they also get to fight kelthuzad almost every single game and pretty early on (for me its like only when there are 3 players left and im the last one to fight it).its also super weird when there are some nice tier 6 minions and , when u triple ul always get the same sh**ty picks- zapp, fort. uther and mantid. (of course mantid can be good when u go for a menagerie build), if elementals in the game ul get on of them for sure(why are they even tier 6).) and whats the point of blizzard making u lose? to make u play MORE. of course some players achieve high ranks like 10k plus. but how long did it take them? unless they are one of those streamers who get PAID to stream . Im sure they had to grind for months .

Well that right there explains why you are bad at BG’s. Mantid, Uther and Zapp are not garbage minions they are in fact top pick minions.

It doesn’t take that long to hit 10K but you first need to learn the game and the meta you are playing in. Think of every 1K MMR over 6K as a rank floor in standard. The games change significantly at each one and you need to adjust your play accordingly.

While I agree with your overall stance, to an extent, you are seriously misguided if you believe this. 10K+ is Top 1K standard equivalent. Its not just a matter of grinding, its pro territory.

There’s lots of people playing in the 10K range that aren’t pro. Certainly it’s not for everyone but it is attainable through practice and play skill increasing. My point was to set a goal each season for yourself within your skill level. Try to attain that goal and move forward from there each season. If your goal isn’t to move up further and further in the ranks than why does your MMR matter? If you just want to play for fun then your MMR shouldn’t matter one bit. Just play for fun and don’t worry about moving up on the ladder.

How about being at tier 5 and getting all tier 1 minions except a t2 one, which? the dude to sell to discover a t1, LOL.

Streamers getting good minions?

Nonsense.

It’s true, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched Kipp playing and he say I just need these two minions to complete the build and the next turn there they are, LOL.

I can usually tell by turn 5 if I can win or not just on my draws. It’s all based on your draw and most of the time its bad.

90% of the times i lose, or cant make it to 1st is because i cant find a certain minion. lets say im playing boombox and i need rivendare in order to win, i can pass like 5 turns which are like what? 50 refreshes??? sometimes even more . and i wont find a single rivendare. even when my opponents dont have it. yes it is possible statistically, but iv never seen this happening to one of those ā€œproā€ streamers. iv watched one of RDU’s streams , only him and another player were left, his oponnent had almost an unbeatable leapfrogger build. he fought him , lost the first fight. then during shopping, he found 6 zapp(non was discovered) in one turn so he had double tripled zapp, and of course he won. what are the odds of this happening??lol.

I’ve been deployed for the last six months and come back to this place even more insane that I thought it was before.

Seems from the posts around here the game is not all that great right now, either. Oh, well. I have plenty to get done.

Depending on the build you are playing Patient Scout is something you may honestly be looking for even near end game.

We are still waiting for the results, by the way

Swampy 100% here. 10k+ is top 800 Battlegrounds.

That wasn’t my point. I know that’s relatively high MMR.
