Ever since the Quillboar patch, I’ve seen LOTS of people just not playing. What’s happening? Is it a bug where they aren’t being able to connect?

What is likely occurring is that people get offered heroes they dont like and/or don’t feel like playing and then choose to concede and hope for better selections next game.

Then they would show up as Kel’thuzad, no? Also, some of these AFK players still rank up. They just don’t buy any minions.
Easy way to rank up your reward track. PPL are also boting like crazy on rank 20. Hearthstone 2021 ladies and gentlemen.
They’ve been there, you probably were too high rank to see them. I tanked my rank down to 1000 intentionally last time and it was all bots.
Because you have low mmr and end up facing all the people who afk for free xp.
Get higher mmr and you won’t play afkerz
That’s why people are afk. The game isn’t allowing players to tank their score with concede anymore. There is NO penalty for concedes, and barely any penalty for loss. I was trying yesterday to get away from teaming while I could learn the game but nothing I did would show me significant loss in points. I did manage to get down to the 3500 range, regardless.
Yes its a bug…acuttually its bugging them to stop play because BG is the new cemetary grounds…AKA dead

I’m in the top 15% or something (about 6500) and have been getting a few.
Battlegrounds is only good for drunken lols and experience farming. You ran into people doing the latter.
There is at least one bug in the code as well. I did an AFK game due to disconnect recently.
