No one is running fast aggro decks because of Tickatus. Tickatus isn’t even popular outside of cheesy low tier games.
It is irrelevant.

You can play control decks to farm the aggro decks like the old rock paper scissors. And make up your minds, is the meta dominated by aggro or by Tickatus Warlock? The definition of dominated kind of means you can’t share the problem between the two.
Yeah, lets nerf millhouse too, a 2 mana 4/4? that’s ridiculous. :v
Guys… OP is definitely talking about WILD, he was referring to Gul’Dan a few times so why are you guys naming him standard decks?
Not like it matters anyway Tick sees even less play in wild.
You’re right, their effects are both very similar.
Tickatus has forced the entire meta to be as fast as it is.
The entire meta ? At gold level maybe, but not in high legend.
Gul’dan was completely fair before Tickatus? Yeah right! Lmao!
It is not really about the meta being dominated by it, even if I do face far more Tickatus warlocks than zoo.
It is about being a bit too good at its job. Warlock in general is currently oversaturated with good removal, good healing, good draw and great anti-fatigue.
The people defending Tickatus are just the people that enjoy playing the deck. Otherwise it’s obvious the card is toxic–it’s not fun to play against. Not just the card but the whole deck isn’t fun to play against. It’s impossible to keep a board alive, they heal for ridiculous amounts every game, and then you get to watch 10 cards just disappear from your deck. It’s not fun to fight, it’s getting to Priest levels of “I hate everything this class does every turn they do it” bad.
It’s plenty of fun for me to play against.
I just keep on smashing their face with my weapons. Self Sharpening Sword, Wrenchcalibur, and Doomhammer are my faves. But there’s plenty more to choose like Eaglehorn, Fishing Rod, Scimitar, Marrowslicer and more.
You don’t like weapons? How about some pet Gibberlings? Or some zany Clowns? Or if you want a prayer, do it to some Totems!
Or if you want to keep it on down low, Jaina and Sayge will keep it a Secret.
What’s the common thread here? You can’t expect to kill Tickatus decks by just sitting back, removing their board, and playing 4 minions all game winning in a fatigue game.
And if playing those other 9 classes than Priest is such a drag for you, then you just need to accept that bad matchup.
“Why are people still claiming Tickatus isn’t a BIG issue?”
because it’s not
Let me guess: your last account got banned and you couldn’t resist the urge to go insult random people on the internet because you feel miserable. That why you have only 4 posts.
na, his btag says he isn’t new or he’s new only on hs and was a wow/d/sc player before (maybe)
The people defending Tickatus are just the people that enjoy playing the deck.
I’m definitely not playing that deck. It’s a bad deck with a terrible winrate. It’s not remotely dominant, loses to damn near everything relevant, and isn’t terribly popular. At this point I only play decks that I know will do well and that card is so far removed from anything relevant that I’ve barely ever used it.
Not just the card but the whole deck isn’t fun to play against. It’s impossible to keep a board alive, they heal for ridiculous amounts every game, and then you get to watch 10 cards just disappear from your deck.
If you are playing anything remotely meta relevant (other than maybe pure paladin) you will stomp tickatus decks.
I don’t play Tickatus. I know it’s statistically weak. I find It annoying to deal with the equivalent of a armorless Control Warrior.
I also don’t think feels bad is a reason to nerf a deck.
Your opponent is going to either kill your hero or kill your board to keep you from killing theirs. The fact that they run so much aoe but lack board presence in other ways makes the deck weak despite the feel bad nature of losing your board. Even if your graveyard is full of dead minions, if your opponent is at 0 life you’ve won.
That’s not the claim. The meta was already aggro dominated. You literally cannot run anything control because as soon as anything control hits t1, anything tickatus will knock it back down to 3 and below.
Make a 2/5 taunt that has start of game draw this card and deathrattle deal 2 to all minoins and costs 2 and it would be the same. Sure give it to a similar class…priest since it has similar board clear to warlock and tell me how that goes as it would have the same impact on a specific deck type as does tickatus.
i wonder why it loses to relevant decks…maybe…maybe oh wait the relevant decks only consist of those it wouldn’t beat…
Okay, fine. That’s not why people aren’t running more control decks. There are A LOT of aggro hate cards. Armor Vendor, Khartut Defender, people still play aggro.
If your control deck is losing to Tikatus, it’s too greedy. Period. But it’s had no to very little impact on the actual meta.
I was watching at a streamer playing a tickatus deck, he didn’t mill 15 cards by turn 10 and only milled 5 cards during the game. Was that a bug ?
Yes it does. It screws over c’thun, every Galakrond deck, every otk/combo deck, every corrupt deck, every N’zoth deck, and any greedy deck. And even if you don’t get totally screwed, normal decks can have a key removal card burned which screws over their gameplan. Every deck you mentioned was the best deck for each class and are aggro/tempo focused which is the OPPOSITE of creativity. Unless you think netdecking the best aggro deck is creative, which if you do, then don’t even reply to this. And I don’t care if it’s not good, it simply isn’t fun to play against. It’s a joke that they released ticketus the same expansion as C’Thun and then had the audacity to hype him up when they printed a hard counter along side him. And great argument dude “Just play ramp paladin, the most cancerous unfun deck in the entire game,” which once again, is another new deck that everyone picked up off the internet and ruined ladder with.
“Oh yeah, if one of my cthun pieces gets burned, my deck was just too greedy! Period!” Ok buddy
Exactly, summed it up perfectly. This card made warlock go from my favorite class to my most hated in one expansion
