Honestly. 6 mana 8/8 is already REALLY strong. BUT WITH THAT EFFECT? ROFLLLL.
It’s EASY AS HELL for warlocks right now to burn through nearly half your deck, have 3 gul’dans, about 6 prime cards, uhm what am i forgetting? Oh yeah the ridiculous removal with their corrupted stuff. Since this mini set launched i’ve been seeing that stupid broken card nearly every match, both wild and standard. DISGUSTING. Just HOW is it people claim he’s not flat out broken? Correction, he is insanely broken but warlock still had a rough time in attrition games. At least before Envoy Rustwix came into play. You know how stupid it is to have your enemy play 3-9 prime cards on top of all those insane resources and removal? How are you even supposed to ever beat this if you aren’t a hyperaggro facehunter? We’re back in the Warlock dominating meta boys, brace yourselves. Subs going to drop harder than the bass on the first rave after covid lockdown.

Hmmm
VS Power ranking put Control Warlock at tier 4 between d5 and 1k legend, with negative matchups against against everything except Pure Paladin, Control Warrior, Control Priest, Quest Warlock and Highlander Mage, also between d5 and legend.

cant believe you call a deck with so many bad match ups across more than half the classes in this game a "big issue "
you are going to lose your mind when you learn about the long list of decks at tier 1 to 3

It only does well against other very slow grindy decks. It’s not simply play face hunter or lose to this. Play anything that can win quickly, which is a large percentage of the meta, and you’ll easily beat a control or galakrond warlock deck.

Wasn’t that the same issue as with Jade Druid? Everybody loathed it so much, blizz printed a tech card that pretty much specifically targeted the deck.
Even with good counters, it seems like Tickatus warlock completely shuts down any other grindy deck and it makes the game unfun for anyone that likes playing slower decks.
And it wouldn’t even be that horrible if playing the card wouldn’t give such a high tempo too, especially with Y’shaarj and OP cascading disaster swings.

Except Jade Druid was an actually good deck that could consistently win games. Tickatus decks are generally pretty terrible

players also tend to forget that to even be able to play tickatus you need to also have board control or your opponent must have a weak board, otherwise you are just giving them a free turn to do more damage
that turn dont happend until late game, which is only relevant against those few slow decks tickatus actually is decent against

Before Rustwix: I thought it shouldn’t have been printed and fell squarely in that “Unfun, not overpowered” category of nerfable cards. That being said, it wasn’t a hard matchup even for my control decks cause once you figure out you ain’t racing em you instead just prepare for the last 3 or 4 turns - they’ll burn 10 of your cards for sure but you both kind of end up at fatigue at the same time due to their consistent drawing. Then its just who planned ahead better.
After Rustwix: Someone is gonna find a Ramp Paladin level of synergy and it is gonna suck (Kibler is getting there). This is purely my opinion and guess and has no hard data behind it. Just a feeling based on observations.
when playing a slow deck
how often do you draw all your cards ?
from my point of view whenever i play a priest or warrior control deck the game is either won or lost with at least 10 cards left in deck
so tickatus is just milling a number of cards i normally dont get to draw anyway

Meanwhile I’m playing rogue shenanigans hoping to turn two good cards into a banana. This meta is a joke

And just let is so be that Warlock is just the class were i do need all my cards…
However even in Wild the card is so slow not all Warlock run it.
But in the future i do fear it will become an issue.
And how on earth am I to develop a strong board against all that removal?
And free damage, sure - that gets healed pretty decently with soul shards.
I go for a super greedy all gods deck and still get outvalued, especially with Rustwix on top of that.

Actually no…
Said tech was created before the deck reached to a really dangerous powerlevel during KoF and during his first times in gadgetzan metagame it was popular but not extremely powerfull.
It was a very weird situation in the sense that the deck was in a triangle matchup were it did win a lot against reno decks but performed really poor in the fast matchups.
Obs: And by fast matchups I mean matchups that would still be considered crazy fast even nowadays like pre fiery war axe nerf pirate warrior.
thats actually very easy, they have limited removal and limited mana. and they need to draw their removal.
Tickatus is a BIG issue! He’s an 8/8…clearly the dude doesn’t skip leg day.
But seriously, he’s only good when he’s been Corrupted (typically Turn 7 or later) and even then he’s useless against Aggro decks. Every meta ever has been plagued by at least one Tier 1 Aggro deck. Is he powerful against Control and Combo? Absolutely. Is he essentially a dead card against Aggro? Also, absolutely. Tickatus is, dare I say, balanced in that he’s good in some scenarios and bad in others. If you want proof, just look at the best Warlock deck right now. It’s Zoolock…no Tickatus needed. People can cry all they want that he’s an “unfun” card, but he has very little effect on the actual meta. Even in casual play, I rarely run across a Tickatus Warlock. People are either Zoolock or the Envoy Rustwix/Infinite Primes deck.

A card being dead against aggro is irrelevant. Dead like any other slow card then. Doesn’t change that the effect is broken.

The reason he is not good in this meta is because tick clearly forced everything to early game.

I would disagree with your assessment. I’ve played quite a bit of Tickatus Warlock and I love nothing more than keeping him in hand to eventually Corrupt the big boi. But if I see a matchup vs. Druid or Rogue, etc., I know if I keep him I’m simply going to lose. I have to search for all of my removal and hope I don’t get melted by Turn 5 or 6. If you have a card in hand that you know won’t help you win the game you’re playing, you mulligan the card for something better. It’s basic strategy in any card game. And yes, cards that are bad vs. Aggro tend to have major weaknesses for exactly that reason. Tickatus isn’t a bad card, but he’s not broken either. At least not in Standard…I can’t really speak for Wild as I don’t play the format.
Kibler’s rustwix decks do not run tickatus.
No. Aggro just does well in hearthstone on its own merits as witnessed by the large number of aggressive decks that all do quite well in most metas
