I have no idea why I play anymore.
Even when I win, this game feels like a chore.
A scripted, heavily weighted ordeal, that never changes, or improves.
I literally loathe the design team, and I have no use at all for the corporate cash addicts that drove this product into the cesspool.
Team 5 has zero intentions of “fixing” anything.
I highly doubt they are capable of it.
I predict they will destroy Wild, and when they do I will finally quit this reeking pile of senselessness.
I am disappointed in myself.
There was a time in my life when I would not have been taken in to staying with a failed product who’s appeal lies only in the fun I used to have.
I cannot imagine what sort of hacksaw Team 5 will take to Wild, but I am going to wait and see it for myself.
See the horror movie through until the end, so to speak.
Tbh, the most annoying part of this game is that it still has the core elements that we used to like, but it gets butchered by all the OP things the devs want to force us to buy/play that most people abuse because it’s meta. The only real solution to this stuff, from my perspective, is to find people with same preferences and make your own custom matches with deck building limitations agreed by all parties.
Idk about you, but a good chunk of my friends either gave up on the game, don’t have the same time schedules or just life happens. So I barely can play with a few people, occasionally… And trying to hunt for ppl of same interests online isn’t really my cup of tea.
All in all, find your own enjoyments. If this game isn’t as fun, try to see and limit to the things you find fun. If those don’t do the trick or you simply can’t… find something else. Or another game…
All of my friends that I started with in 2013/14 have quit/moved on to other games.
My nephew and his friends all boycotted
Blizzard products years ago.
I think the game is on a countdown. A lot has happened in the last year. I think their gutting of the eSports is a big hint. Blizz doesn’t want to invest any more into it after the YT flop.
I feel BGs are headed in the same direction. For example, they haven’t done anything to support Beasts. It’s always variance of one comp: Parrots/Frogs/Rivendares/“x” Beasts, that or a hybrid of the OG Beast comp with Bear. I haven’t seen the Wolf played in a loooong time myself. Sure, they added a Beast, but it’s still the same. Buddies have been fun to have back, but as you climb MMR, it becomes more and more important you have a very good Hero or a broken Hero to at least place top 4.
I don’t think they care about Arena, I’ve never touched Duels more than a handful of times so I have no real opinion either way, and, well, Mercenaries… I feel I don’t need to say anything.
All in all, I consider HS “playable” but nowhere near as appealing as it was before Dragons expansion rotated. I’m going to be jumping in next week to see if it’s still worth it as it does look decent enough to give a shot, but I don’t feel confidence nor the excitement I used to have. May simply be a forum lurker and Twitch viewer if it continues down this path before the year is up.
Blizzard is like a black hole that suctions any unfortunate soul who is bored about life. I have same problem as well. As much I hate playing; this game just sucks you back in to the torment of losing.
I feel the same way about every place on the internet, we’re old.
I bought both pre-orders so I can build anything that appears and looks fun. This is my last time back. If it doesn’t hold my interest I’ll leave for good.
That means unfollowing a bunch of YouTube channels. It was seeing them have fun that pulled me back in this time. And I’ve tried the F2P experience. I need more variety than that can provide so it’s a no-go for me.
Playing a game that makes you feel bad is pure madness. It’s like, the only purpose of the game to be fun.
Would you also frolic on fields of barbed wire? No? Of course, silly thing.
The hell are you doing playing a game that gave you material for at least 4 years of CC on it’s forums then? You know it’s not grass on these fields. Stop rolling and jumping on it.
The weirdest people to me are the “its not scripted” types of players. Is every outcome in the game scripted? Of course not. Is it heavily scripted in general to set up certain matchups and create certain situations and sometimes cheat a win? Of course it is. If you think it is all chance, you are delusional imho. But as blatantly obvious as that is, the fanboys will never change their mind and keep defending the status quo.
Honestly I predict you will be here till
The day the game shuts down, vomiting all your nonsense on how terrible a game HS is yet somehow still supporting it… but that’s just my prediction…
I don’t think you’re the only one.
Strange that its the “its scripted” crowd never manage to provide any evidence whatsoever of their claim… Should be simple if its so easily spotted, yet here we are.
You have mentioned it several times you do not enjoy the game. And I do not mean over the few weeks, but months.
Though if you play you still have to enjoy certain stuff about HS even when you do not admit it to yourself.
Isnt it because you are so hell-bent on certain stuff you used to like in the past so you still compare everything to it?
I also love to grumble and mutter (a lot actually) but I have progressed to a stage where it doesnt mean that much - sure, I do not play HS that often as I have used to but I still play it few days a week.
And I have accepted the direction they are pushing HS into.
If you keep playing there has to be some stuff that brings you joy or entertainment. So just focus on that. I usually try hard to reach ladder floor, then play some meme stuff like enrage+taunt hybrid, blood+unholy hand buff DK, quest paladin, Faithful companios hunter etc.etc.
And its working for me. Lets say 1 day I push for rank floor, and then I just focus on stuff I like even when its not working usually (around 40% winrate)
That was the best time of the game when dragons was around.
I considered this some time back, but then realized that the ranked rewards are like half of my cards, it would take you an eternity to get any reasonable collection just off the back of daily/weekly quests that you are not full clearing anyway. Even then you wouldn’t necessarily be playing the game the way you want to play it because your deck choices would be forced by the quests.
this is the overall feel for every activision game. ov, hs, d4 now its half assed corporate corruption put together with the dead skin of blizzard, where they say:
"look blizzard’s here… "
"where? the quality is gone, this is just activision. "
I agree. Like I said: Ask me why I am here?
I have no answer for why I have stayed around as long as I have.
A real exercise in senselessness.
As I was telling a friend: It’s a shame that I can’t will my gold and cards.
'Cause after the morons destroy Wild I am gone.
Longer than that. Years.
This. I think this may be the prime reason I am still here.
There is no other game where I can do what I have done in HS.
I started playing in October of 2013.
I have over 60k in gold. I have every mage card, and almost all of the neutrals.
I cannot simply run to another title and repeat what took almost ten years to collect.
That’s kind of taking what I am saying out of context, I am simply saying that if you wanted to just have friends matches and be like we will only play year of the ____ cards which sounds like it could be cool if you had the players to do it but then you miss out on ranked rewards unless you are grinding those on top of doing these friendly matches and people would still not be free to their own devices unless they completely ignored quests. I guess you could do this technically but it would be like you are perma stuck in a classic type of mode because your collection wouldn’t grow.
You really have no non-mage cards? I still technically have access to any deck I want to play so long as I don’t swap often because I have 30k dust, just that it only really would make me 5 decks in todays hearthstone economy and I am sure those decks would only be valid for an expansion. I managed to catch up on rares again, but my gold is zeroed out. I think I get about 20-30% more than I need through playing, but that means you can only break away from the game for like a third of a year max.
