Why 6k mmr bg is equivalent to legend?

It’s not like the difficulty to go entry-Legend is that much different. With very few games a day it needs no more than 55% win rate, and they can do it with 40% win rate and no star bonuses if they play for 8 hours a day (because a win streak can do it).

I think it’s harder to get to legend than it is to get to 6k.

I’m curious what percentage of HS players you think make it to legend each month?

I 100 percent agree with this i can cruise to legend while doing honey dos or working on stuff but if i do that playing bgs i will hit rank floor again in no time

I think it’s more of a psychological difficulty rather than an actual one. People get scared of d5 way too much if they’ve not been to Legend before.

If 6000 was called Legend they might have had similar issues.

Based off my studies of the game of paper rock scissors, the game is never actually balanced because paper has a dopey name; it’s always underplayed which messes with the overall meta.

But while I acknowledge that names matter and have real effects on player behavior, I nevertheless resent that they do. Humans are a stupid animal sometimes.

It’s bigger than the name of paper here, because that would be only equivalent to underplaying a deck because it looks bad (and they do). It’s a bigger effect because they see the “big important label” Legend and they think their life depends on it or something so they get tilted way too easily.

I agree, the participation trophy ranks are designed to foster an unwarranted sense of worthiness

I’m just saying it’d be a better world if peoples’ egos weren’t so easily manipulated

Why are you asking questions in a response i made answering a simple question? I didn’t make any elaboration in that comment about legend. I simply answered your question.

If you want to know my position on your question read other posts i have made. At this point it’s like talking with a brick wall. You are NEVER wrong about anything. I may be wrong on my assessment but it’s what i believe. I assume you think nobody can have an alternate opinion from your own? Perhaps showing some humility in your posts would work out better.

But you didn’t tell me your estimate of how much of the player base reaches 6k.

That’s the comparison - the % of the whole that achieves the ranking. Statistially speaking, 6k is middle of the road, so if you think it’s legend equivalent you need to tell me half of all hearthstone players make legend each month.

If you think it’s less than half, you need to raise your BG ranking equivalent closer to 8k like I said the first time.

That’s a weird strawman. I’m wrong all the time. I guess you never heard me saying I’m wrong in something specific from the handful of replies to you.

Rare moment of clarity

I’m more often embarrassed to say I am wrong than I’m unaware of being wrong.

Though it’s not always embarrassment that causes you to not say it explictly,

very often it’s just implied by not disagreeing anymore so it’s fine.
