Who thought this card was good idea

Azerite Snake 4 cost steal 7 health from enemy hero make a battle cry maybe death-rattle would be better give actual counter. Blizzard destroys games with bad card designs like Lifedrinker 10xbetter for the same cost.
I don’t see how to fix Hearthstone no matter how much nerf they do the power level is way too high it needs a hard reset.

I dislike this card too. Another example of cards that simply do too much for the cost.

Pour card design makes the game not fun and What is Blizzard thinking I could name so many from the recent set that should never been printed.

The effect in a vacuum is fine for a final excavate reward. From a burn damage standpoint it’s actually just a little better than fireball (4 mana deal 7 instead of 6). The real value is in that the damage cannot be healed or armored back up.

It only gets out of hand if you can bounce it or have other synergies.

But even then I’m pretty sure it’s not the most broken synergy out there.

Yeah, it’s a final excavation reward, so it’s meant to be strong to compensate for the tempo loss of playing excavate cards.

Even with a broken synergy with Alexstrasza where you can OTK someone by healing him to 15, the deck is tier 3, so, why complain about it xD

honestly the interaction with alex sounds like an exploit.

Bug? Exploit?

Call it what you want, apparently the devs don’t think its’ winrate warrants a fix. I also don’t think it warrants a fix, as I can’t imagine running Alex in a serious meta deck these days xD

Seriously, imagine what was the first person to discover that exploit thinking when he even made that play? How do you even… I can’t hahahahhahahahaha

I can’t xD

Hate the card so much.

I think it should be fixed just because it doesn’t really make sense, but agree with everything else you said. I am also incredibly amused by the idea of the initial game where this interaction was discovered

It was 10 damage for 4 when it first came out last Oct. This is the nerfed version.

Just another of the many “wtf were they thinking?” cards. Remember when HS was about value, resource management, setting things up, not overcomitting into wipes and such?

Now its just jam your crap and kill from hand. Or refill and draw endlessly.

I didn’t mean that the snake needs to be nerfed, I only meant the interaction with Alexstrasza doesn’t really make sense to me

I think Azerite Snake should be buffed to stealing 8 Health and that some of you need to stop complaining about every tier 4 deck you lose to.

The Alex bug has been happening since the release of the card. People didn’t realize because there wasn’t a way to set the opponent’s health in standard, but people realized it in wild.

I remember a thread where if you played Amara from the Awaken the Makers Quest your 40 set health would reduce by the amount of health the snake has taken.
So, before nerfs when it stole 10, if played once you would set 30 health, 20 if played twice and so on.
Even when played after the Snake has taken the health.

You also die immediately if you played Majordomo Executus and you become Ragnaros with just one snake played. Again, pre-nerf.

It’s about time the card gets fixed. It’s a bug for months now. Not being a conspicuous bug doesn’t mean it should be allowed to exist for that long.

when i saw the topic tittle i tohught it was a necrobump from before azerite snake nerf because they didnt release any card synergizing with it in badlands

Problem with the snake is that they can bounce it too many times and it is unstoppable. dirt rat always gets the bounce minions instead of Snake and losing one bounce card is not a problem for warlock. they should decrease the number of viable bounce cards. if only 2 of them would exist snake wouldn’t be a problem. they would be able to steal only 21 hp and give a chance to opponent.

It’s irksome when people do this. There’s much more to the cost than simply paying 4 mana. Mischaracterizing things this way is disingenuous and misleading.
