I just conceded a game because of something that happened before. I forget the card, but it’s buff states if it takes damage it gains x amount of attack. It attacked my 0/2 taunt totem and gained 2 attack. My totem dealt no damage, yet the other card gained attack. Makes no sense to me. Is there an explanation for this??
Was the minion in question Gurubashi Berserker?

In any case, are you sure that the minion gained its Attack after attacking a Stoneclaw Totem that had 0 Attack at the time? Perhaps your opponent used their Hero Power on it if they were a Mage, or cast a Whirlwind effect if they were a Warrior; or perhaps you had an aura buff on board, such as Dire Wolf Alpha adjacent to the totem.
Most likely, it was the Frothing Berserker. When any minion takes damage, Frothing Berserker gains +1 attack.
That does make sense if the minion gained +2 Attack! Thank you for the suggestion.
In that case, it is almost certain that the Stoneclaw Totem was somehow buffed to have greater than 0 Attack and the OP is mistaken, if it is not an actual bug.
Night Howler fits the description:
Night Howler
4 Mana
3/4 Minion
Whenever this minion takes damage, gain +2 Attack.
But as others have said, there would have to be some other explanation for how it took damage from attacking a Stoneclaw Totem.
