YA your deck determine enemy deck pool NOT your rank not your skill…
I thought it was a combination of what beverage I was having at the time combined with the HEX code of my sock colour which the algorithm worked with in order to determine who or what I’d be facing.
they just suck at their job. not the same as mental issues.
And every you change sock change enemy deck pool? because if change your deck…It just works
Though the mental state that allows them to let the pro company people to post hate speech and threats unchecked might be classified as borderline sociopathy. And the outright refusal to lsiten to players’ feedback could be classified and narcissitic.
There are some mental issues that contribute to the level of laziness we’re seeing here, as well as the kinds of harassment issues that have gone on for decades at their workplace.
Strange isn’t it? According to my findings sock colour definitely has an impact of the opponent’s deckpool I’m facing. In my case changing decks didn’t seem to matter.
I usually don’t wear my Legend socks or it would be cheating.
Gaslighting aside, anyone who wants more insight into the matchmaking process do an internet search on the actiblizz matchmaking patent.
It’s most informative.
Do enlighten us with a link and if it’s relevant to Hearthstone.
I remember it causing upset in the Overwatch community years back where it was supposed to impact the sale of microtransactions. Yet did this ever make it in the game?
Edit: A patent does not mean it exists. While informative, it remains a rumor. Back in 2017 Activision PR stated they did not use such systems.
Direct links to it get 404’d very quickly here. Hence why I told people to do a search for it. Indirect references are the best you can make to it, which should tell you something.
There are a ton of articles written about it that are still up from gaming publications as well.
So, they patent something…just to let it collect dust. Makes sense.
Sure, and from from the same company that was firing whistleblowers, and their customer service people whilh posting record profits.
But let’s take a more tangible in game example: they lied about bringing back Tyrande during year of the mammoth, and blamed it all on amazon. Because we were supposed to believe amazon controlled actiblizz IP, or that their lawyers were dumb enough to work out a deal that was not in their favor. Clearly, we knew they were lying, as it made a comeback more than once in other regions for other promotions, and no lawsuits happened.
More recently…big mercstone patch, and still no promised coin fix.
And of course the failure to deliver the regular rotation of hero portraits for gold.
Last, but certainly not least, the big whopper of “improved communication.”
Who do you believe, the company or your lying eyes?
Ouch. That sucks. Hope you can get back there today. Good luck!
Incorrect. There is no such criteria in the matchmaking system. Matchmaking is based only on your Rank or your MMR. It does not consider your deck composition, your win/loss streak, whether you’re p2w or f2p, or if you forgot to brush your teeth that morning. Just Rank and MMR. That’s it.
will never be enough, they will do minior fixes that will amount to changing a card to costing +1 extra mana then print another set of broken garbage (edit: because $$$)
Source?
Because changing your deck comp absolutely changes your opponent matchup. Tired of seeing boar priest, or Cariel pally? Put a weapon removal in your deck.
I would certainly let the patent go to dust if even there was the slightest odds of it going public while in active use. It would likely mean the end of the game through all the bad press. We only experienced the result of it being patented which stirred up enough already.
There’s indeed a lot of articles on the patent, but not it being in use.
Yep, on occasions Blizzard has lied (e.g. the initial Battle pass offering the same or more amount of gold). Using this as a means to claim anything can be true has its limits. It is up to the players whether they will use this as an excuse for variance.
Because changing your deck comp absolutely changes your opponent matchup. Tired of seeing boar priest, or Cariel pally? Put a weapon removal in your deck.
You can’t be serious if this would be credible data to claim that changes your match-up.
A heightened sense of self-importance is definitely an issue with games companies these days. Leads to what you described.
misinformation will never be informative
Match making is totally retarded, as soon as you change the deck BOOM you get some never seen deck to counter you OR rope warrior, I guess they are using it to balance some stuff like if you lose to much they give you bot to make you happy! TOTAL TRAGEDY !
You’re sure you’re not the one who came into existence after your opponents made a gimmicky deck with their newly purchased cards just to give them one free win as a reward?
That’s neat of you rigged matchmaking system.
I’d have to do some searching (and I’m not so good at that), but it was either a Blizzard Dev post on the forums or in a Dev tweet. One of the developers explained (almost) exactly how the matching system works without the details of how the MMR is calculated. It works like this:
Based on your finish rank in the previous month and your finish MMR, you are granted a star multiplier, which allows the higher ranked players to advance through the lower ranks much more quickly. That multiplier decays every Rank floor. If you earned, for example, a star multiplier of 7 based on the prior month’s result, then you would gain 7 stars for every win until reaching Bronze 5. Then you would earn 6 stars until Silver 10. Then 5 until you hit Silver 5. Then 4 bonus until Gold 10, 3 bonus until Gold 5, and 2 bonus until Plat 10. After then it’s just 1 star per win. (You still get double stars for a 3+ game win streak but that’s a separate bonus).
So, while you still have your star bonus (i.e. your multiplier hasn’t decayed to 1 yet), you are matched against other players based on your (hidden) MMR, which is based on your overall win rate. After the star bonus is depleted (i.e. your multiplier is now 1), you are matched based on your Rank (i.e. Gold 2, Plat 8, Diamond 6, etc.). Once you hit Legend, you are again matched based on (hidden) MMR.
As I’ve said, I’ve already taken the bait on that one. I played 10 games without Vipers and then 10 games with Vipers. In the 10 games without Vipers, I faced 2 weapon decks. In the 10 games with Vipers, I faced 3.
Correct. I’ve definitely called them out, quite harshly as I recall, for the lies about the new rewards system. I still don’t think they’re 100% trustworthy. That said, I’ve seen absolutely no objective evidence (I mean good scientific data sets) that indicate the matchups are affected by deck composition.
I hope you have a crappy life
wow that was pathetic the forum spammers are running out of ideas
or you just forgot to switch between your alts seeing this is your first post in this thread
