So I’m seeing a lot of Beast Hunter decks running Hydralodon. However, perhaps I’m not using it correctly, but I don’t find Hydralodon being a good card. I only see bad things about it.
Hydralodon’s effect is a battlecry. You have to play it from hand to get good value out of it. If you summon it from your deck you won’t get as much value from it.
Sometimes, it takes up too much space of your board, which can sometimes be a detriment, if you’re trying to put some good valuable minion on board. Even when you play it from hand, you essentially just get a 6/2 rush minion. And 99.9 % of the time, the opponent will board-clear the Hydralodon next turn, so the hydra heads’ deathrattles are essentially worthless too.
But, maybe I’ve missed something here. What is the actual utility of the Hydralodon? I just don’t see it
Also meant to be played with the new secret that makes a dead minion dormant. Kill a tentacle first and two more are spawned (plus one dormant), kill the head first and it goes dormant and revives next turn.
I’m guessing its meant for an aggressive minion deck that uses this as a late sticky minion.
If those two replies are too much “shade” for someone to handle then they probably should just avoid the internet entirely.
This idea that it’s only ok to to receive super positive responses that totally affirm the validity of everything you’ve said is utterly ridiculous. And I don’t know what’s convinced you that questions are automatically neutral, but they’re not. “Just asking questions” is an infamous defense of conspiracy nuts and political hacks who want to imply something while retaining the veneer of neutrality.
Not that I’m implying the OP is doing anything like that… do you seriously think our replies were insulting? We answered the question. Just because we didn’t also give a backrub and praise his negative opinion’s validity doesn’t mean the responses were particularly negative.
they were wrong. They didn’t miss anything. Instead, the drawback they pointed out is not nearly as big of a drawback as they’re making it out to be. Implicitly, that’s exaggeration. Hence the shade.
well, just by playing him, it’s 3 minions, which puts you a long way towards reviving a Rat King. Crash a single tentacle, you get two more, effectively giving you enough minions to revive Rat King on its own – not to mention all the other Hunter cards that benefit from dead beasts.
On its own, yeah, it’s probably not that good.
EDIT: I missed the chance to reply to this thread with “ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, SAY IT AGAIN” and a brass arrangement. Sorry.
I assure you I’m not trolling. Sorry that you’ve having to deal with some. Elitist players here will completely disregard any take that isn’t made by veteran players. There is something to do in that certainly nerfs and buffs cannot be made deciding on frequently misplayed decks.
In arena it is good enough to carry me to 10 wins without any knowledge of the meta, expansions nor classes playable in that mode
In standard, I don’t know where to put it, but it’s a big beast so I want it.
Maybe you can try to use shawn in your deck (it’s free), to give rush to the heads in case you recruit it?
In all practical terms, what you’re describing is impossible. The forum doesn’t tell me that someone has never made Legend before. I don’t have any way to know this. Instead everyone just kinda says things, and I try my best to gauge how good forumers are by the quality of their posts. It’s not “I see Legend and I presume quality,” it’s “I see quality and I presume Legend.”
