What is a good rating in battlegrounds?

I would love to know what rating I need to be to be in the top 25%, 10%, 5%, etc. I am a bit below 7k right now and am curious how good this is. Anybody have any idea?

I’d like to know as well. I’m a bit under 6k (5970ish) and I haven’t been able to find ratings online. I remember Kripp once saying 7k and above is basically the top 1% of players. Not sure if that’s still the case.

There are 10-11k players

Why is this even important?
You don’t even get any rewards for having a high rank!

True, but there are so few players above a certain rating that if you’re 7k to 8k you can get matched up with 9k and 10k players.

I hover around 8k + but top 200 is 9k+. Dean once reveal top 5% is 5500 but that’s quite a while back and we dk the denominator, is it everyone who played the game once is included?

I think average would be around 5-5.5k but no one really knows since it probably counts players that rarely played much while starting at 4k. I hit 7k but I don’t notice much different than say when I was at 5.5-6k.

I think there is a difference. I stuck a while at 7k. I go up I go down but its always at 7k, I believe that was my skill cap then. Now I hover at 8k, I believe that is my skill cap now. Did I improve? I am not sure. But when I play competitive othello, I went from 1900 elo to 2100 elo without feeling stronger too. Sometimes it’s just consistency got better.

you get bonus up to 6500 rating (at least it used to be that way based on what blizzard told us,not sure if still the case). Above that you have to do it on your own.
6500 i think is a nice target to go for initially, which might still take a long time. 6500 is sort of rank 5 constructed (even though they are very difficult to compare). It should be ~ top 25% of all ACTIVE players i would guess. Maybe even slightly better up to 15%.

It’s pretty funny that Rassy just made up numbers from thin air.

It reminds of a little kid trying to explain banking or something.

I honestly have no idea if people who played BG a few times then quit the mode still count among the MMR ranking.

6,000 MMR is the minimum requirement for a person to be called as “Battleground player”. Less than that then he is just a visitor of the mode (similar somebody visiting the Whitehouse is different than people actually working there).

I go up and down a lot. Was up over 8200, but had a horrible streak which took me down to 6800. Back up to about 7500 again slowly trying to working my way up, lol
