the two biggest wow expansions in recent times are coming out

dragons and lich king

each adding a new class

evokers versus death knights as the next hearthstone expansion to just wrap it all up!

Sure! There are only 24 collectible legendaries per expansion after all!

Adding death knight right after mage got the most undead archetype ever (skeletons) would be weird

I’m sorry you missed Frozen Throne, the Death Knight hero cards were powerful and amazing at their time, at least most of them; but the one class they’ve already said they’re working on for the entire focus of next year is:

Monk

Aside from only a few actual Pandaren cards from across all the expansions, one directly revolved around the Sha, Mantids, The Celestials, and even more implied of the Mogu and Saurok has so much potential.

This isn’t to shoot down your idea, for at least Envoker-like cards or Dracthyr making more of a scene is really likely; they could do a Lich King and have a “At the end of your turn put a Evoker spell into your hand” etc, but hero classes in Hearthstone take a lot of time. A good idea of that is just how LONG it took for Illidan to come out post Legion’s release.

They already havent figured out how to balance what they have already released. Remember demon hunter release? It was a disaster in terms of balance.

there is absolutely zero shot of this ever happening. blizzard has been on record as saying it was an enormous lift to introduce 1 new class, but even anecdotally, the DH launch was SUCH a friggin nightmare and the amount of balancing issues blizzard would face with even 1 new class is enough to make them take their time, let alone 2 at once.

I would LOVE to see DKs & Monks in the game, and maybe Evokers down the line, but we’re a pretty long ways away from all 3 of them or even 2

My memory says the opposite, that DK as a real class (not “just” a hero card) would be developed first. Could be wrong and can’t find confirmation for that.

Iksar wrote in Jan 2021 that they are positive to bringing other classes, the infrastructure they set up for DH would make it easier next time - and no, he wasn’t talking about the balancing :crazy_face:

No I’m referring to them introducing 2 in one expansion, particularly the NEXT expansion. The balancing aspects of 2 new classes would make this game a nightmare.

I remember the days DH nearly killed hearthstone. I doubt they would want to repeat the same mistake, although they are a greedy company so it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to add another busted class.

I would quit the game if they introduced 2 classes at once with the next expansion.

Oh no they’re definitely adding another class, Monk; I just don’t know how soon it will happen. It could happen within the year though.

I wish they had like a Beta test for new classes tho bc that would really help us figure out the tuning needed for it to be playable.

Didnt someone claimed to have seen leaked DK hero class stuff and was saying that it was gonna be added in the next expansion?

Adding two clases would destroy the game economy as it is currently designed. It’s hard enough to get the cards one needs without diluting the pool further.

Jez Corden, an editor for Windows Central, has kind of a track record for leaks, he spoke about the DK release. There seems/seemed to be a DK Location card in the programm data files, other bits 'n pieces plus a whole lot of speculation.It’s still pretty much up in the air, so caveat emptor.
