Well, this month I got to legend on the 5th day of the month (October 5th), around 700 rank. Them I quit playing for like a week because the Beast Hunter meta was already very boring for me. So I came back some days ago after the patch to see what was new, around 2000 rank because of the days I did not play, and what i’ve been noticing is that even at this considerable high legend bracket there so many bad players playing extremely troll meme decks, and even a lot of meta decks are tweaked in terrible fashion. This is something i’ve never seen in legend ranks in the past 2 or 3 years playing this game. It seems like Legend rankings is being reached by a lot more bad players these days, and also by a lot of players who don’t really care about rankings but still are able to reach quite high legend ranks somewhat easily. So i wonder what’s going on nowadays, has the game really become a lot easier to climb ranks after the last change to the ranking system, so that the vast majority of legend players should not actually be in those ranks?? It feels like real Hearthstone these days only happens inside the first 500 legend ranks, which is kinda crazy to think about given that all legend rank players are around less than 5% of the entire Hearthstone playerbase…
because they all got there with the same beast hunter 98% win rate deck you did that they nerfed down to a 97% win rate
I would guess that there are fewer truly purely competitive players. Some zerg there for rewards, other just to say they get legend every month. But I don’t think a lot of them want to maintain a high level of play once they get in. Easier to drop rating and get matches against worse players.
The old hearthstone had few changes and lot more casual players who would grind craft a few decks. The downside was a stale meta that lasted the whole season in most cases. Now we have frequent balance shifts and high top decks churn and the casuals can’t keep up so they quit. I don’t think I ever see players with high rarity cards missing these days - high variation decks I see always have a ton more legendaries (which are usually worse for the deck performance).
not even close to high legend
top 1k finish is considered ‘‘high’’ legend and the true competition is top 500.
so when you play in what is considered the dumpster by the good players, don’t be surprised to see bad players and decks.
What exactly makes a “bad player?” You, like everyone else are playing copied meta decks.
My god, the standards these days
anyway, Mallenroh, i assume you’re talking about wild. The answer is that wild has way less players so people consider Dumpster Legend and meme about at higher ranks
I don’t know for others but, I’m always experimenting with alternatives at Rank 5 - Legend. I don’t like copying decks and get high lengend rankings, I’d rather play with a custom deck and see how far below I can drop to after hitting legend. In the process of descending, you’ll encounter many different decks, some you don’t expect at all! And you’ll know why a card is good/bad and how to construct better decks as a plus.
Good player = copied netdeck and has time to grind 8+ hours a day.
2k legend is far from dumpster legend bro. Dumpster legend in Standard usually starts around 4k legend in the middle of the month.
Sure most pros lurk inside top 1k and above, but in general, up until 2,5~3k legend players have always been very competitive in the past, which seems not so true these days…
To answer your question:
Because people play overpowered, brainded self piloted deck to reach legend and have in the process no fun. They just play those deck to climb up to legend.
Then when they reach legend they are trying to have fun, what is actually the point of playing game.
To summarize: You use not fun boring powerful deck to climb. Because deck that make you having fun are all bad.
Hearthstone 2022 has a bad design and I don’t think it will get better. Game lost its purpose, this is why people play less. It is easy and boring to win.
