The mimic chest in what I assume is Kobolds and Catacombs is my favorite, probably. Fireworks and bombs are a close second. I think those are on the Boomsday board, but I’m not completely sure.
Fireworks are on Rastakhan’s Rumble. They were probably my favorite part of any of the Year of the Raven boards.
SoU’s musical toes are probably the most fun element currently in Standard. (And the snakes around the pillar on that board aren’t bad.)
But I’d definitely agree that the amount of fun stuff on the game boards seems to have been going down the last couple years, especially in comparison with Year of the Mammoth, where all three of the boards had some decent things to play around with. (Volcano was pretty much the best there.)
If I’m in an environment where I can play music while gaming, it’s usually metal/hard rock for an FPS, but more progressive stuff for anything less pulse-pounding and more cerebral like HS.
Dewa Budjana’s latest album has been a major jam for me lately.
ok so i checked them out…not necessarily what i like but i love hearing new bands.
now let me suggest a few if i may: Ningen Isu (japnese metal. imagine a monk looking science teacher, a 50s greaser and a uncle fester/gene simmons combination rocking out to some of the most awesome music you ever heard),
Alestorm (pirate metal…not kidding its awesome lol)
, Baby Metal (seriously, just start with “catch me if you can”. its amazing. like being punched in th face with a kitten.)
The Hu (mongolian metal. they actually made up a language so they could make a song for star wars).
the rumjacks (australians who do awesome irish rock)
I play two hearthstone games at the same time, one using ipad, on my alternate account. I also do one (at most two but it gets overwhelming) of the following:
Revising my daily language lessons
Attend a conference call
Reading and replying emails
Chat with friends (either HS or personal friends)
Surf the net
Watching anime or movies or serials
Listening to music or stand up comedy on youtube
In this way, even if opponent ropes every turn, i am not bored staring at the screen. I also play fast Intuitively having played so many years, so opponent don’t feel like they are waiting too long for me too.
If you don’t have two HS accounts you can try runeterra too as the other game you play while playing HS. I tried that but struggle because I need to concentrate on LoR and deciding if I want to counter play, how much mana I need to conserve to react etc, all the time, not just on my turn. HS, I just play my turn and switch my mind to something else. There is no need to watch what the opponent did as there is a recap bar we can access before each play.
I look up other games, and other jobs, to move on from hearthstone as it’s ruined by the info-share age we live in. Totally.
You don’t take a metadeck, play it well, and call that deckbuilding.
It’s not, it’s just copying the deck and the mulligan, and then going turns 1 and after on your own brain, which is like just a small part of skill as matchups many of the times dictate who wins regardless of your turns 1 and after mastermind skill.
A lot of times I don’t even log into hs bc of how lack of balanced it is, and info shared up. Streamers get ideas from other streamers and their groupchat, in 2 seconds. Nothing is unique that wins. If there’s a spark, it’s exposed within a day. Game is not about deckbulding, when it should be.
