For me it was that wins in arena now count for your golden hero border! If only this was around earlier to make use of my 4600 wins…
What about you?

Random Card backs
I know its trivial, but I have a lot of them, and I like most of them. Every single deck I make, I use a different Card Back on it, but even then, I simply cannot use them all. So having a Random one display every single game just seems cool
Not sure if we could really call it a “feature” but my biggest point of concern going into April was the forthcoming impact of Genn and Baku. With them heading to the Wild farm early, I’m pretty stoked about the coming expansion and honestly, this entire next Standard year.
The huge difference gap in the metas that wild and standard will have. Also the new solo content.
Yeah, Baku/Genn getting benched was a good surprise.
They had much more impact than expected, so getting an earlier retirement will be healthy.
I really like the idea of rotating arena sets. As a standart player I think I will have some fun playing with old cards again.
I am not hyped for any of it - I refuse to set myself up for another disappointment. Any competitive deck I play will be constantly whined about, the new solo content will suck, and in the first month of release, the one deck I find most enjoyable will probably be nerfed to the ground.
And let’s not forget the auto-include neutral they are going to nerf. (Giggling Inventor, Bonemare, etc)
So. Hyped.
Only “feature” I’m hyped for is the changes to Arena. The golden hero thing is nice, but totally mixing up what cards are in it and most of them being Wild cards and then switching it up midway through the expansion is really fresh.
I’m hopeful that that the PVE will be awesome but I can’t really get hyped about more dungeon run content. It looks like it could be really fun though and I’m looking forward to it. I’m not hyped but I’m very curious.
And of course I’m ultramega hyped about Baku/Genn HOF. And actually super hyped about Divine Favor HOF.
The new arena format is going to be very interesting and fresh for a long time arena player like me, can’t wait!
I’m very sceptical about the solo content though. It feels like a cash-grab to me without any notable returns based on what I read. Time will tell.
If you’re ok with spending the money you get plenty of returns for $20: 15 packs, a golden Whizbang-ish card, 2 card backs, a golden Classic pack, and all the PVE content.
EDIT: Maybe just 12 packs, since you get 3 from each of 5 wings and the first wing is free.
All the death knights and extremely powerful Ards rotating out… It will breath new life into the meta and allow for more interesting and unique decks… Giving off meta decks time to shine.
I like Baku and play odd decks (mech warrior and odd mage primarily) but I won’t cry when they go.
Also Arena… I’ll play more with the new changes.
And the new expansions… They sound like they used to be and I have no experience of that… Being 2 months in… But the format sounds better
Genn and Baku out, makes me feel like the new expansion might actually feel fresh this time around. I was pretty worried it would just be the same old archetypes again if they stayed. Doomguard to HoF is also a really big deal, and something I’ve called for in the past. It’s just too easy to play around it’s drawback and it’s nice to know that Zoo probably won’t make it’s regularly scheduled comeback this year.
Still need to see some cards to find out if Priest is even going to be on the radar this time around, though. Priest has never done very well the expansion after the rotation. Un’goro was the best, there were like 3 different barely T3-T4 decks for the class by the end of it as I recall. Way better than being a dead class for 7 months in Year of the Kraken.
I look forward to DS/IF being dead again, I really hate the combo in all it’s forms. We’re looking at a highly unpredictable meta atm, and Control decks might actually go back to being value decks instead of “Infinite Value Massive Removal” decks. Last year, I think we all knew that Cubelock was the obvious favorite for the deck that would warp the ladder. It’s not so clear this time around.
Rando card backs for sure.
Going back to Random Arena over Adjusted-Bucket Arena would be great someday.
A boost to quest rewards / taking out some of the 50’s / upping the droprate on the 100g (since it is just too low, it’s like once a year or two years it shows, which is just…not even existent at that low of a show-rate).
Getting a couple thousand dust for free is usually my favourite part of the new year. But the arena changes seem like so much fun, so that.
Getting rid of most of the infinite value cards will makes things more dynamic I think.
Imagine getting hyped over basically nothing. No new game mode, no new features, paid PvE content, standard cards that were supposed to last 2 standard years but getting hof-ed instead. People so desperate for “change” they rejoice over nothing.
Well, I guess the arena change is something, at least they are rotating back wild sets.
While I do love the arena golden hero change, I am very disappointed it’s not retroactive. My arena runs have slowed down significantly because it’s just more boring than ever to play, and it’s just sad that my 3000+ arena wins aren’t counted for anything. I’m sure I’ll get some of the golden heros via arena over time, but the point is I should already have them! Just sad
Baku / Genn meh
Just means more Zilliax type decks but even more so
a lot of Academic Espionage / Tess Gryemane decks in the future
Pve adventures coming back tbh.
I loved the old adventures and now you can play them while also not screwing new players by keeping cards from them that they need to really participate.
Arena rotations, etc. Yes. Something that will bring me back to playing.
Too burnt out price-wise when it comes to Standard. So, I’m only focusing on a few archetypes I enjoyed playing and stay in Wild.
