What balance changes do we need in BG?

Number one on my list is the chicken needs to go. The advantage it gives it just too great when you consider all the things it synergizes with. Getting your deathrattles to go off twice each turn is one thing, but when you can make them go off a full turn’s worth twice in the same turn, it just is not right.

What else is there that needs attention?

It is overal issue with the “start of combat”, because you dont know what goes first - is it going to be chicken, the pirate, choral, the spell to put one minion to 1.

The chicken is disguisting especially with bomb build vs another DR build. But it is as well fun.

I had it and my opponent as well - mine was superior (golden chicken and baron) - but he started, so he killed my entire board and I lost, because my baron died before bombs going off and I was hit for 25 and died.

But yeah, chicken+baron+spell is crazy. I managed once golden chicken+golden baron+spell with goldrin and it is crazy.

Now that Goldrinn is an aura, getting all those extra procs is insanity.

It also fuels Rylak insanity, making things like triple digit blood gems normal.

It’s left to right, or at least supposed to be.

Just finished the exodia game, where opponent had quite big mechs - I mean couple of 100/100s, 80/80 swipe, all under divine shields, prepared refreshes…

blaster, 2x chicken, golden bomb mech, regular bomb, kangor, Golden baron and active deathrattle spell - I was missing golden chicken and omega to buff the bombs.

Basically his 1/1tokens were the only ones who hit something (and died with next bombs).

Dealing three times (each chicken+death) 12 on the blaster to everything (84)+bombs (4 x 20+4 x 10) and spawning full board of bombs coming to 800+ damage and you still have board full of bombs (360 damage) to deal with.

Yes, it does not kill ultra late game murlocs or elementals, but it was so fun to watch.

A lot. The power level currently is more than a lot of the anomalies, and those were broken.

They could take out the chicken. That would help. Bloodsworn to 1 free spell a turn. It’s way too easy to sit on 2 and get 40 or more gold in a few turns.

Early game dragons are a scam. Way too strong.

What do we think of Bristlebach?

I would be in favor of outright removal rather than changing avenge.

As big as some of the blood gems are, both the stats and the repeated divine shield buffs are pretty bad.

Here’s what I’d do.

BEASTS

  • Hawkstrider Herald to Tier 6 from 5, +2/+2 stats.
  • Ghastcoiler to Tier 5 from 6.

DEMONS

  • Malchazar, Lord of the Dance to Tier 5 from 4, +2/+2 stats.
  • Tichondrius to Tier 6 from 5, but now effects itself.
  • Imposing Percussionist to Tier 3 from 4, -1/-1 stats.
  • Insatiable Ur’zul to Tier 4 from 5, -2/-2 stats.

DEMONS/DRAGONS

  • Peckish Felldrake to Tier 5 from 4, +1 Attack and text to “Battlecry: Consume 3 minions in the Tavern to gain their stats, then refresh the Tavern.” (Potential Murkeye builds.)

DRAGONS

  • Murozond to Tier 4 from 5, -1/-1 stats.

NAGA

  • Pashmar the Vengeful to Tier 4 from 3, but +3 Health and now Avenge 2 instead of Avenge 3.
  • Silent Swimmer to Tier 3 from 4, but 4/2 stats and Spellcraft gives +2/+4 and Stealth.
  • Corrupted Myrmadon to Tier 4 from 5.
  • Slitherspear, Lord of Gains to also effect himself.

PIRATES

  • Gunpowder Courier to “After you spend 4 Gold, give your Pirates +1 Attack, then switch to Health.”
  • Rapscallion Recruiter’s text to “Deathrattle: Summon 3 Scalliwags. They attack immediately.”

QUILLBOAR

  • Razorfen Geomancer now a 1/1 with Battlecry: Get 2 Blood Gems.
  • Sun-Bacon Relaxer removed from the game.
  • Briarback Bookie to Tier 1 from 2, 1/4 stats.
  • Moon-Bacon Jazzer to Tier 2 from 3, 2/4 stats.
  • Necrolyte to Tier 3 from 4, 2/2 stats.
  • Geomagus Roogug to Tier 4 from 5, 2/5 stats, text to “When a Blood Gem is played on this, play a Blood Gem on the minion to the right of this.” Golden is play 2 Blood Gems to the right.
  • Aggem Thorncurse returns to Tier 5.

Master of realitys i guess. It scales way to fast with rockrock and a board of elementals. (you can get 400-400 quiet easily with even the non golden version, all while buffing the rest of your board).
Chicken i think is fine. Its not really dominating.
The new heroes, but the best one has been taken out already and the other 2 i think are more or less fine.
Maybe some of the spells.

It’s basically as fast as pain demon scaling, but it actually needs a Tier 6 minion, pain demons doesn’t. And the biggest minions in the build have Taunt which makes it vulnerable to Venomous in some lobbies. I agree that it’s kinda borderline but I don’t think it’s a huge issue.

Which one had been removed? As far as I can tell, bloodsworn just had armor adjusted.

Tae’thelan was banned until the next balance patch.

Thanks for the prompt reply. It’s not in the patch notes, just that his armor is down a couple. So his armor is down, when he does finally return. Cheers!

You do not even need Rock Rock, which I am convinced is bait unless you have multiples.

You can also remove the taunt from master, making it easier to hide from counters.

I love it being back in, honestly, but I never find it because of all the extra minions in the taverns these days.

You clearly do not play the mode. I do not know where you got your ideas, but they are terrible suggestions that miss most of the correct problems.

You actually want to substantially buff dragons, which is hilarious.

Demons are by far the most overpowered tribe currently. Beasts second. Dragons and Elementals are middle of the pack. Quillboar desperately need help.

Maybe I should have included Undead buffs too but I’m going to be real, I don’t know what to do there.

We know.

This was evident from the fact that you buffed demons in your suggestions.

I have the BG upgrade for HSReplay.

Tier 1 is:
Demons
Mechs
Dragons

Everything else is Tier 2

Except
Tier 3 Undead
Tier 4 Quilboar (you were right)

After sitting and playing with Undead for a few hours i am fine with how they are. The problem with undead(If we want to call it a problem) is that they play completely different than how they were originally envisioned. Once you learn how they want them to play now they are quite powerful. Being able to just create triples is pretty disgusting IMO.

Demons powerhouse is their Tier 6 minion. It’s what makes the whole build of demons work. Thankfully there are ways to snipe that minion plus the Demon player needs to play some Menagerie late game in order to make it all work. So if they haven’t been planning well or just went straight 7 demons they cannot hope to win the lobby.

I haven’t played much Quillboars yet so i am not sure how they will play out. From the bit i have dabbled with them so far i am not overly impressed. The rest of the tribes seem fine. Menagerie has come back in a big way in this patch though so i am very happy with that.

The biggest changes they need to make are to some of the spells. Some are too powerful or on the wrong tier. There’s also a couple spells you would absolutely never take and need reworked or removed.

Once players figure out the Undead that % will rise. I see more and more Undead players now as they have figured out the trick to playing them.

I won my lobby with undead in my last game.

Being able to reborn everything in the shop and then discard that reborn unit for more scaling is supremely powerful.

I do not have issue with the spells, but which ones are you most concerned about power wise?

Not the underpowered ones, the ones you believe are on the wrong tier.
