Share your deck and some insight about it folks.
I picked up this Automaton Priest list and the deck is everything I could’ve asked for. Its play style is amazing. Adapting to your draw and finding a win condition like that is great. And it’s very much fun. Maybe not as strong as the top contenders (OTK decks) but it’s still good.
Some things I realized:
-
Pet Parrot is amazing. The pressure you can have with an Automaton Turn 1, into the Parrot, into potentially more ways to copy and play Automatons makes the deck very fun and able to apply early pressure. Even Crimson Clergy into the Parrot followed by a mass heal like with Fan Club or Funnel Cake is very strong.
-
A LOT of new synergy cards with old cards. Mixologist and Griftah for instance synergize perfectly with Pip. I got the "Reduce your cards in your hand by (1) relic from Griftah, played Pip and had a very strong turn the opponent couldn’t even answer. Even if they did, I had Sasquawk to replay everything and make this board once again, stronger, since it included Automatons.
-
The deck can do everything from being aggressive to going late. Narain, Ra-den, Sasquawk and Creation Protocol will help with that second part.
-
A very important thing to know is: If you Pip a Fortune card from Narain because it happened to cost 1, you will actually get another Fortune card rather than a physical copy of the card it shows.

Thoughts about the deck: They actually made Automaton Priest fun to play.

homebrewed lamplighter rogue is what I’ve landed on, tried a bunch of rogue shenanigans (got both rogue and warlock legends) and lamplighter is the only one that’s felt both fast enough and “cheat” enough to beat other decks right now
aggro DH is insane too

Being in wild, I feel like I’m on a different planet, most days.
Still playing my same decks, though I am trying the cards you suggested now.
I’ll get back to you.

I had a lot of success using Yetis and Ogres Hunter I also included Nozdormu the Ancient Dragon because I had a quest for it, if I go first I win because the deck is 29 minions and 1 devouring swarm so I get to use the Dredger Wait Staff into turn 2 Amani Berserker into turn 3 Ogre into turn 4 Yeti into turn 5 Ogre into turn 6 Ogre into turn 7 Ogre+something else into turn 8 Ogre+Yeti, it is basically over well before then but sometimes people hold on and think they can win against such pure strength.
Since the expansion came out, I tuned up some of my existing, not-so-competitive decks:
-Elemental Shaman
-Triple Frost DK
From scratch, I also built decks for:
-Deathrattle Tourist Warlock
-TRUE Rainbow Tourist DK
-Tourist Rogue
#1 My Shaman deck was already doing fine last expansion, but now I feel like it got pushed to A tier thanks to lamplighter.
#2 Full Frost DK is finally playable once again, I manage to get an acceptable 50% win rate with it. Horizon’s Edge on curve always stabilizes the game against aggro decks while also pressuring combo decks into playing combo pieces earlier than intended.
#3 This deck… started out awfully. I swear my day 1 tests yielded like below 25% winrate. Since then, MM stopped pairing me up with lamplighter rogue decks and winrate went up again.
#4 My True Rainbow deck is doing surprisingly well. Playing Razzle-Dazzler on curve is a surprising oppressive move. I had someone concede right after playing it and I remember winning a different game 1 or 2 turns after playing one early in the game. Despite Climatic Necrotic Explosion being in the deck, I NEVER won off of it despite having the means of using up my corpses, which I think is what a good Rainbow deck needed (a good game plan besides playing CNE).
#5 I thought for sure such a slow deck would fail and… it did at first…
then I took away ETC and 1 copy of Snatch and Grab for 2x Valeera’s Gift.
My winrate against pirate decks stabilised around 50% thanks to Fan of Knives and even managed to out-tank and out-damage an excavate warrior with my 2 extra copies of Deadly poison.
The cherry on top? Robbing a mage of its deserved victory with Announce Darkness by playing it turn 2 and highrolling off of there. Turn 3 Symphony of Sins + coin is kinda busted. Who would have guessed?
