Just getting rid of objection? Like completely? That’s a legendary effect in a rare card. And it’s not always game breaking, but when I’m running spell only DH and have my Jace Darkweaver(wild player here) as my only minion, that’s 3 mana to just beat me
If only. Probably my most hated card of all time and I was here for Undertaker, Shudderwock, Togwaggle+Azalina, Dead Man’s Hand, and Mysterious Challenger.
Though TBF if Mage could only play 2 of them per game, and if non-Mage classes couldn’t run Neutral minions to generate Objection, it wouldn’t be as bad.
Objection is definitely an infuriating card, as I think for a lot of the old time players playing minions was the safest play against mage secrets for a very long time and as such, old players like myself and many others couldn’t learn to as quickly learn to test for it which led to a lot of instant losses.
What’s to learn, you either have a sacrificial minion to test for Objection and clear it, or you don’t and have to play suboptimally-to-awfully for multiple turns so that you don’t toss the game outright.
At least Explosive Rune lets you have the Battlecry.
Is this not a reaction to this: (https://`us.forums.blizzard.com/en/hearthstone/t/objection-should-be-core/122974)`
The fact is that most Standard secrets aren’t worth the three mana price, and those that play them regularly know that.
Objection is rotating. if you do not play in wild then you should not be concerned at all.
o h N O ! people talking on a forum disparaging the one thing you like? the H O R R O R !
This thought is something I think could be applied to so many things in the game. It could help with the power creep and Discover effects.
Objection is annoying i don’t like it much but it definitely should not be gotten rid of.
Objection is just a slightly better version of Potion of Polymorph and nobody ever cried about Potion being OP during it’s time.
Potion of Polymorph didn’t counter Battlecries and Mage didn’t have access to Infinitize the Maxitude, Vast Wisdom, Reliquary Researcher, etc. at the time.
I said I was a wild player
Well then, suck it up. Secret Mage is one of the weakest decks in Wild, thanks to the Lackey nerf.
People will claim they want interaction in the opponent’s turn and then complain when said interaction isn’t completely unplayable but passable.
Sure, let’s delete all the overpowered crap other classes have and then we can remove objection as well.
Why must we pretend that objection isn’t only as strong as the deck you run, maybe build a less greedy deck to not lose to it.
They do claim this. They might even sincerely believe it. But it isn’t true.
Nah. People don’t want interaction. They want to be the solitaire deck and never have to play against such decks. They want interaction being only 1 way their way.
Interaction for me but not for thee
Its actually really strong, I know because I play it
Its not a greedy deck, it legit requires to have only one minion… Like that’s the point of the deck
Objection isn’t often a “insta-win” card, but its too annoying… cuonterspell is fine, but seeing your minion get countered always feels bad, even if your using a bait minion
Not compered to pirate decks and shaman it ain’t. I play it too.
And if you play it, you should know how to play around it. smh.
This is a ridiculous double standard. As if minions are better than spells or something. This proves that your only standard for how fair a card is is how much it effects you personally. Narrow unenlightened self interest.
If Counterspell is okay, then Objection is okay. And vice versa.
I’m not here to complain about Objection, but I don’t think that statement is correct at all. Obviously, it’s situational to a degree but I’d suggest that countering a minion is a more powerful effect on average than countering a spell. You can’t just break it down into “both cards can counter 0-10 mana so they’re equal.” They can both effectively block you from playing into them until you have a bait card, and being unable to play minions is far more devastating to almost every strategy than being unable to play spells (there are some rare exceptions).
