It’s way too early to say that a card that is a power creep of Mecha’thun sucks, but I guess this sentiment is in response to the huge quest warlock/quest mages in Standard rn?
I mean… can’t say I didn’t see it coming. Every other class got stronger with their new cards and Priest got basically nothing.
I just didn’t expect the quest to feel so clunky/frustrating to play. Feels so bad seeing basically every other class just throw out spells/minions and complete their quest by turn 6, meanwhile I’m stuck on stage two at turn 9 because my 5-drops are buried at the bottom of my deck once again. I get that with such a strong reward, the quest shouldn’t be a cakewalk - but it feels basically unplayable with how the meta is shaping up.
I know everyone loves to spout that “it’s been less than 24 hours since release!!!”, but I can’t see things getting better for Priest this expansion without some significant changes. The power level of some classes has gone through the roof (literally feels like I’m playing in Wild vs some of these decks - and there’s a reason I avoid Wild like the plague) but Priest has remained stagnant. Hoping that some decks surface to prove me wrong!
It’s okay. But you use it more for the draw than the 10 mana reward.
It’s just SUCH a slow quest. You gotta play an 8 drop, then a 5 drop, then find a 10 drop and play it.
Meanwhile everyone else is finishing their quests on like turn 6-7 and completely unloading hell on their opponent from almost nothing.
It feels like the quest should be… play 3 2-4 cost cards, then 2 5-6, then 2 7-8. So you’re not just sitting there going “well I didn’t draw one of my two 5 drops”.
IF that’s how they want quests to be.
Power creep ?
OTK with C’Thun are definitely easier to pull in the decks that uses him. How is that a power creep ?
Yup, they decided to make Mage, Warrior, and Warlock OP this time around. I’m sitting out until 2023. Next year doesn’t look good either.
If it dind’t suck, then a nerf hammer would eventually come. I mean… There is no gray zone here with this quest. They should have changed this to something funnier to play that allows it to be balanced properly.
For now, yes. But it’s only so hard to pull off the priest quest, imo at least, compared to the others, bc the others are overtuned and end games much earlier. The priest requirement for “Destroy the enemy hero” is much, much easier to fulfill than Mecha’thun’s requirement, excluding class vs neutral card aspect.
I mean a card that literally reads “win the game” has to be slow otherwise it would be utterly busted. I agree some of the other quests feel a bit overtuned, but they don’t just insta win the game on the spot. Besides, we’ll see how things evolve over the next expansions, the deck could easily receive good support which tips it into being a competitive deck. But I pray that this deck never becomes top tier.
Played 25 games today, non a single Priest lmao
But it’s not, you can Mechathun otk on like turn 8. Good luck getting off the priest quest anywhere close to turn 10+.
he said easier
not faster
Are you suggesting mechathun otk is difficult to pull ?
If you cannot draw a 5-drop, create a 5-drop!
The Priest Quest is quite clunky to be sure. It’s definitely not on my list of cards to craft. Maybe if I end up getting it by chance I’ll try it, but I’d say it’s last on my list of quests to try out.
I have no idea about the Quest.
But, from the complaints it seems you would be wanting to look for mana cost reducing cards to get the big cards out?
IDK, I’ll go research it.
If you reduce the cost of your cards, they count as they reduced amount when you play them for the quest. So it doesn’t really work and a lot of the time you can completely screw yourself over with it.
The whole process is extremely clunky.
If sometbing is easier isn’t it implied that it’s faster?
We just need a tech card:
2 manas 3/2 tradeable battlecry “Destroy all quests in the game, opponent draw 2 cards”.
Problem solved.
Easier would not imply faster, even in this context.
You can accomplish a task relatively quickly but that does not mean it was easy to do.
