Internet was perfect outside of hearthstone, my opponent ddos or locked up the game so I couldn’t make a turn. The game was constantly trying to boot then reload me in. Eventually it just froze, my computer didn’t it was running at lightening speed just the game. I should have taken a screenshot of it. Never seen a game like that ever…
Because it can’t possibly have been a bug, someone “hacked” you to make you lose a silly card game rather than doing something useful like, stealing your credit card information.
TBH the repercussions for the latter would be much greater if caught so, yes some people simply do silly hacks. Did the OP encounter a hacker? Probably not, but your point is not really a good one. FBI won’t be barging in your house over messing with a HS game, but the second you take credit card information you’re free game.
But because Blizzard does have credit card information, they secure their servers just as well, and that’s what they’d need to be hacking, because the game runs entirely on the servers and the client just gets the updates.
So, yeah, the intrusion would have to be just as sophisticated and is just as difficult as one that would lift credit card info, perpetrated against Blizzard which has an entire team dedicated to active security. So, yeah, the point stands.
I’ve actually had that happen exactly 2 times where my game actively kept disconnecting me and reconnecting while the seem to be completely fine finishing their turns, hardwired to my modem playing on Desktop and able to pull up Command and check if my ping was stable which it was
It does make you wonder and I jumped to the same conclusion in my head. However I know its unlikely to be the case and more likely to be a not so common glitch
I also thought maybe the other player knew how to trigger it to happen
People will find ways to get ahead even in a silly game lol
Its likely just a rare glitch as the first time it happened to me it was months ago and fortunately hasn’t happened to me during an arena match
is this your first blizzard game?
Right, but they can usually tell what you were messing with. Just the game? Blizzard simply bans your account and moves on. Actually messing around with credit card information would result in a swift notification to authorities.
It’s more lucrative, but risky unless you’re a coordinated organization or HIGHLY skilled enough to cover your tracks.
You’re not the only one that has been having issues with the game connections. This has been happening a lot since the launch of this expansion.
Getting these hacks more and more…
Yeah someone random targeted you and just you to with a game of Hearthstone that had no real weight to it. Its not like it was a Tournament game with prize money on the line or even just a tournament spot. Why would anyone bother hacking Hearthstone to win a random nothing game?
Now I’m not saying they do this in hearthstone but don’t be in denial. If someone figured out how to do it and decided to post that information out there, you know people would jump on that lol
Think of hacking as basically cheating in a physical card game and people have done it even when there isn’t much to gain
I’ll agree that it is still highly unlikely that anyone does but not impossible
Had that happen to me a couple times also. It usually happens from the start of a match, then you get your game sorta running in place or desynced (you can view and select cards but you don’t see the opponent plays or even when he ends his turn, you might not get disconnect warnings either but the game is still going) and you are forced to close the game and reconnect to keep the game going, only to have it happen again after one turn working fine. I can see people being skeptical of it being a bug because the moment the match is finished, the game works normally again afterwards.
In any case, I wouldn’t doubt if people actually tried some form of DDoS command or lag macro in games to do that (people used to do that in WoW pvp and it worked) but hopefully that’s not the case.
except hacking in this case (criminal regardless of what you do after the hack has been succesful) could just get you all the account info, passwords, and credit cards numbers etc instead. but no, someone who has found a backdoor into blizzards servers instead forces his opponent to dc in a game of hs.
Yea, your right. Probably wasn’t the best way to put it
I just wanted to emphasize the fact that if they found a way to cheat they will even if there isn’t much to gain from it other than just wanting to win
note that cheating such as stacking your deck and hacking the servers of a billion dollar company is a big difference
Iv had a similar experience about a month back and the players name was TheBug and some random numbers i will not disclose as to not identify the player which made it even more suspicious!
Here is a link to the thread I made about it if anyone is interested.

I’m getting disconnected due to mini blackouts in the UK, I returned to find out that I had won my last match…
Money is temporary the glory of winning is eternal
Your argument is silly. There are tons of ““hackers”” in a lot of games. If there is a way to do it, then there might be people that does it. I dont think that HS is one of those games tho.
But you need to hack the servers of a billion dollar company in order to stack your Hearthstone deck.
