Weekly Quest Refreshing

Anyone knows how do weekly quests refresh? Do we get 3 new quests on Monday? What happens if you haven’t completed some of the quests by the next week? What happens if you haven’t completed the expensive one - ‘Win 7 ranked games’?

Yup.

The phrasing in the revamp announcement makes it sound like you get all new quests, and any quests left in your quest log are overwritten. I guess we’ll know for sure tomorrow!

Would be nice if we could get legendary weekly quest as well.
Or just another regular.

That is very interesting if we get 3 weekly quests per week, instead of it acting like dailies and only giving you one new quest per week. If we get 3 weekly quests per week despite completing 3 in the previous week, I think that might significantly alter the calculations people are making around the new progression system… that’s a very significant amount of exp being provided.

I am hoping for 3 new weekly quests but I expect just one.

We’ve known since the announcement that weekly quests refreshed in sets of three though. The evaluations people made about the system all assume three new weekly quests per week.

You get three new weekly quests. This much we know for sure.

Ah, it’s the first time I’ve heard anyone call it out in specific, so I may have just missed it in other threads. Many haven’t exactly been very detailed on the calculations but rather reactions instead. I always figured it was going to function the same as the dailies did, just shifted to a weekly scale instead. I’m glad to hear otherwise.

If you don’t get something or finish something by the time it expires in Hearthstone generally you’re out of luck unless they re-release items in the shop. Did you think you would just get half the rewards?

I just want to say, that was really really hard to finish the 3 weekly quests.

I played about 4 days, I rerolled the weekly quest a few times. Initially I started off with 3 weekly quests that all required me to play 3 different modes, my first two rerolls didn’t change that. Then I guess I got lucky when I needed to get lucky on the last day and I managed to get the quest “deal 200 damage to your opponent” which was finishable with the 7 ranked wins.

I think I know better than to keep the duels quest next time, although I could have alternatively played tavern brawl 5 times (I would hate that), seems very long. I think I won about 6 games (I needed 5 but I wanted to finish my run) to a horrendous 9 losses which didn’t help things either (my scholomancer collection is lacking which also made it hard). Then theres 7 ranked wins, which I completed in about 13 games.

Overall all in all while trying to complete the daily quests 28 games is more than I generally like to play in a week. As I mentioned though, I rerolled into a lucky quest on the last day and if that had not happened I would not have completed. Now that I’m looking back at the possible list of quests, rolling on the last day was a terrible gamble anyway.

Furthermore I had a 1/6 chance of getting a quest that was unpassable each reroll given that I don’t own old gods from the unreleased set, nor do I own the corrupt cards. I also want to point out that the old gods and the corrupt cards from the new set also look like meme pack fillers for the most part so it might be hard to complete those quests even if I did have a couple in my collection.

So based off my current assessment, activision is winning if their goal was to get me to play more, because I just stayed up til 1am my time to finish these quests and 1:30 even for my rant.

Yep, baseline calculations from official info from Blizz is:

  • Dailies at 800xp, 1,000xp or 1,500xp
  • Weeklies, three per week, always totaling to 6,000xp
  • Ranked constructed around 400xp/hour.
  • BGs around 300xp/hour

Folks have been making calculations based on these numbers against the known XP requirements for each level.

We’ll also have almost twice as much time to complete them as we did this time, since the patch was released halfway through the week.

No. Since there are 4 slots for weekly quests I was hoping they would be added gradually if you have incomplete quests from the previous week. For example, you have two incompleted quests from the previous week. So on Monday you get only two new quests. Then you clear out a slot on Monday, so on Tuesday at server reset time you get another one because you have a free slot now.

I got this impression because I had two uncompleted daily quests yesterday. Today after midnight I logged in and it said in one of the slots: ‘Refreshes in 23 hours’ (or something like that). I cleared one quest, and now two slots had this text ‘Refreshes in 23 hours’. Cleared the last one and now the text appears in three slots.

I don’t think we have confirmation that incomplete weekly quests will be wiped out, do we? As far as I can tell, they operate just like dailies, only you get three of them on every Monday instead of one every day.

Blizz saying that we get three each week doesn’t mean they override existing quests in a manner dissimilar to daily quests.

New legendary quests with packs usually pop up at the time of expansion release right? Those should hit on Tuesday.

Unfortunately modes other than Ranked are pointless until you’ve done the Win 7 Ranked games weekly, unless you enjoy missing 42500 XP over the course of a normal expansion.

For reference, that’s nearly 1/4th of the xp required to hit level 50.

Isn’t that the easiest one? It’s just 5 duels wins. If you really want to do it fast you can even retire the deck after a couple wins to just play the faster early games. The games after 7 wins really do get slow often, especially with decks that tend to burn through the whole deck, which is usually more than the standard 30 cards. Even then though, it should be similar or faster than the ranked 7 wins (well OK, maybe not, as you can always just face hunter in ranked).

At least at low mmr (I’m 5k now), duels seem quite easy. I got 7 wins on my 1st game ever (got 1400 mmr for that one) and I got my 1st 12-win yesterday. On the other hand, I guess if you are one of those actually lower mmr players, then you should understand that everyone starts at 0 mmr, so currently you’re basically playing vs random opponents (well except ppl who had early access and already raised their mmr, but that won’t be the case on reset this week). Give it a couple of weeks for all the sharks to rise from the 0 mmr bracket and games will get easier.
If you don’t have legendaries, just play heroes like warlock or hunter and stay away from paladin or at least don’t play the greatsword (I had 5 legendaries in my starting deck of the 12-win run).

This is what I don’t understand. WTH were they thinking. They apparently believe that people that don’t play ranked don’t deserve to get cards. People like me that get to 5 wins for the card back and go back to playing Casual are really getting screwed out of XP/gold with the new system.

It is a little annoying the arena one is finish an Arena run with at least 4 wins not getting 4 wins in an arena run. My quest is not done before the reset with me in middle of arena run that’s 7-1 right now.

So finish it :). Although I agree it doesn’t make sense to have “finish” in it. It really could lead to some disgruntled retire deck moments, which is most definitely not good for business.
If it is 4 wins arena run requirement it should count as soon as you get to 4 wins. A 12-2 run can actually take quite a while to finish.

P.S. Is there really a weekly like that? Seems a bit harsh for the average player (4 wins is above the average 3, so on average it would take more than 2 runs to complete), especially if it’s specifically arena (so can be expensive to complete too) and can’t be done anywhere else.
