Seriously LOVING this deck. Feels like a welcome break from starship nonsense and feels really strong at cutting these cheesy decks off before they can launch into late game shenanigans. I’m 80% wr with it right now having a blast. Anyone else love this deck?
It’s a very subjective take but I guess to each their own, personally I don’t find it interesting to play with and this comes from probably the biggest Rogue apologetic guy you’ll find around here.
I had a ton of fun with it for the first 50 games or so. It presents interesting lethal puzzles that make you think about how you can close out the game without dying next turn and it’s quite satisfying. It gets boring fast after some time because of how telegraphed it is.
Absolutely love the deck
150 games, 68% winrate, I peaked 83-85% at one point not many matches ago
Absolutely hate the deck
Peaked at couldnt tell.
To each their own
Onedimensional, linear, boring. Yes
Fun? No.
It’s far more interesting and your decisions playing it are far more impactful compared to dropping minions on curve for most of the game like many other decks. Many matchups you cannot afford to miss any damage, you have to be clever and play to your outs.
This was the deck I mainly played the first 3 days into miniset because I couldn’t afford the expansion. And my rank has been on decline ever since I didn’t pilot this deck and switched to protoss druid.
Got bored of it second day of crafting it. Super one dimensional. But winning is fun I get it.
I was trying to do the Agency Espionage achievement, and I found a very peculiar Maestra rogue that appears to be combining big weapon attack of Spectral Cutlass with Harmonic Hip Hop but also a lot of generation of powerful cards so that the weapon isn’t an end-all.
I recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want high APM but also a lot of random choices in rogue.
It’s extremely unrefined, because some variations are 60% win rate but the archetype is 30%!
It’s literally called Cutlass Rogue. It’s an older archetype than Weapon Rogue. Unfortunately, it’s too slow.
Big part of why Weapon Rogue works is because it will end games turn 5 or 6. By then, Cutlass Rogue won’t even have a 4/2 weapon equipped, let alone be ending the game.
Perhaps if Rogue’s slower cards haven’t been overnerfed every patch last year it might have had a chane in this meta, but that train has left the station.
I initially wrote Cutlass Rogue too but then I noticed D0nkey separates pure Cutlass VS Maestra (it’s unclear why because some Cutlass decks have Maestra too).
Weapon Rogue is extremely powerful because it has a lot of redundancy; e.g. today I destroyed its weapon twice and they still came back.
Though frankly they should lose with 2 destructions because I did the mistake to destroy them after only 1 weapon buff but still.
The fact they can survive at least 1 weapon destructions is enough though, to show how redundant they are at buffs.
Maestra was there because if you played Tess after you played a hero card it will replay all of your rogue cards previously being played hence you will get the cutlass back even after being removed by rustrot viper.
There are aggro matchups where you need to control the board to win, and in those matchups you often destroy one weapon and finish with the 2nd one. Those are:
- Hero power Druid
- Zerg DK
- Terran Shaman
- Mirror matchup
Only once in over 300 games on that deck did I win after destroying 2 weapons, and it was in lower ranks.
Probably because overbuffing the weapon isn’t the main win condition in that version, and it only uses it for board control and sustain
