They’re just garbage now. Too costy, when played on curve they provide too little value. When played later in the game they’re just… underwhelming. Hard to justify the cost of running these cards, doubly so when other cards from the expansion in other classes are just so much better
You’re not wrong. Or if they don’t buff the mana cost, they need to buff the effect. As an example, the 2 mana +2 attack +2 armor should be +3/+3.
Actually I think they need to remove the Finale keyword from the card. Reducing the mana cost won’t necessarily mean that they are better, since you still need Finale to make them playable.
My winrate practically doubled after I dropped the Riff package for other armor/draw/removal. Since the new cards didn’t sit in my hand waiting for mana to work out.
Only thing that might help this garbage would be:
Make “Play the last riff” unconditional with Finale: “Play all the riffs you have played this game”
Other than that it isnt even close to todays power level.
Hold on there sir, that would make them as good as DH relics. Can’t have that!
Riffs don’t even compare to previous power levels, like say… librams.
To me riffs feel like pally librams in that it’s a package that in theory can support many different decks. But as a package it feels incomplete and certainly nowhere as powerful.
There aren’t attendants/truthseekers like cards to improve your riffs, or a pay off legendary like liadrin.
Even if such cards are released in the miniset, it doesn’t change that right now what riffs we have feels very incomplete. Pally librams on release only needed an attendant buff to be good (it wasn’t even that terrible before the buff, but back then DHs were OP and running everywhere so it felt weaker in comparison)
One way that might improve it is that instead of repeating the last riff, it’s “discover a riff you played this game and cast it”
With such a small riff pool, this basically means warriors can choose exactly the riff effect they want for the situation.
