If you picked Warrior decks when you returned to Hearth Stone after 3 months, the two Epic Bladestorm cards that came with the deck will disappear, but you’ll keep the rest of your cards. This mistake will cost you 800 dust, or you’ll have to stop playing the deck you picked when you return to Hearth Stone.
Not all cards included in these comeback decks are permanently granted to you.
Some are part of the core set, a set of cards free of use for everyone but tied to the current in-game year
The core set rotates each year and the rotation happened today, alongside the release of the new expansion.
Bladestorm was part of the core set of the year of the Pegasus and has been replaced by another warrior card in the core set of the year of the Raptor. In order to keep using that specific card you have to create its wild version
how would i do that?
Go into your collection, click the Crafting button, browse to the missing card, and right-click on it.
Of course you will need some dust to spend. Crafting isn’t free.
I am missing 6 cards from 3 decks received as rewards when i created my account last year.
metamorphosis
expendable performers
stand against darkness
hammer of naaru
armor vendor
bladestorm
I understand the Core rotation thing but this does not make any sense and is not fair.
What is the point of giving rewards if they cannot be used.
Several people have reported that the returning player decks contain Core cards that are lost when the season changes.
But even if Blizzard updated those decks so that the cards were permanent, the deck would become a Wild deck and you would likely be facing tougher opponents with more powerful decks, which would not be a good experience.
I don’t know what a good solution would be.
it’s not a returning deck but new player quest rewards deck (all 3 of them - highlander control warrior, apprentice paladin, and a demon hunter deck) but i see them the same way.
I understand they would become wild and have no problem with that.
It’s just that, it’s a reward not a loaner. They should just make them permanent otherwise what’s the point of having an incomplete deck at the end of the year. It’s like i get in a game a car as reward and then lose 2 wheels at the end of the year.
It’s not fair and just makes them look bad making us spend dust on stuff that should have been already ours.
You don’t lose 2 wheels
You have 2 wheels forcibly replaced with ones with different characteristics
He said the deck is marked as incomplete. So yeah, he kind of did lose two wheels.
Just because the replacement has been added to their garage and they have to put them on the car themself
It’s extremely rare that a core set card is being removed without another one being added in its place. It’s just not forced into existing decks
I think that’s the basic problem. The new/returning players were used to having a playable deck, which is now gone.
Some players might not know how to replace the missing cards.
I agree on that
Just not on the comparison with the 2 lost wheels
I’ll be the first to admit and claim that the core set is poorly explained in game, even more so its rotation
After rotation is announced could they implement a small mark on cards in your collection that indicates that card will soon rotate out? Whilst it would help to explain the Core set more clearly, for many new players it is overwhelming keeping track of which cards are from the Core set and which will rotate. This should help set expectations and would prompt players to understand the system
Alternatively, Blizzard could give both the Core and collectable versions of cards when choosing free decks. This would fix the issue of new players who play modes such as Casual Wild losing seemingly random chunks of their decks whilst only creating a small amount of extra complexity to the system. Though better explaining the Core set will make it seem a lot less random
I think you are not getting the point.
The thing is these cards are just gone. The only way to get them back is spending dust - which players may or may not have or they are keeping it for some other cards the want to craft.
It’s not like oh the core copy was removed but i still have the wild version and just have to replace it. The card is gone gone.
Now i am thinking that at the end of this year, who knows what cards from these rewards will be gone. Or worse, it could easily create a precedent and then you lose stuff you actually pay for and they say “oh you paid for access to the card, not the card itself”.
And again, since these were rewards in the new player path or for returning players, they should be permanent and i see their removal as a BUG.
Yes the core version has been removed and you have to craft the older version of them to keep playing with them in wild
But they have been replaced by another card
You haven’t been left with 2 missing wheels, you’ve had yours removed and 2 others put in your garage
You gain access, for free, to a free rotating expansion, not to these cards at vitam
damn. thats a lot of dust i don’t have lol
