Just played 4 straight Warlocks who ALL hit double Thadd on turn 5. I was able to clear them out on 2/4 games and both times rez reborn immediately next turn.
Another “random” series of games…

Chadlock, bomblock, curselock
pick your poison.
What beats them?
The same always did beat.
Decks with decent hand damage.
Fast burn beats combo warlock. So, Frost DK.
i’m not part of the problem, i’m the entire problem.
I just wish you’d share some of your lists. I am always reading about your home brewed and monstrous decks.
Yep, i faced one of them , finally had Steamcleaner in hand ready for the first cycle of Horsemen.
Then my heart broke when they used rez undead and it hit the Horseman who adds 3 more into the deck
Sure it couldve wiffed and hit Thad or the Flesh Giant but im constantly on the low roll of things
In conclusion
Warlock has ALWAYS been a problem with all the non interactive combos theyve been given these last xpacs.
Curses, Mines, Shellfish.
S.s.d.d.
Agreed. Curses are toxic, and so are shellfish.
I believe that Thaddius Warlock is the fairest feeling deck to face off. It plays board, meaning it has a potential weakness.
Iv been playing a version of this deck lately. Warlock basically cant do anything meaningful for 4 turns and they must draw the slime and a big undead before then or they pretty much lose. Even with slime you lose often because you are basically dead by turn 6 in this meta, lots of aggro out their that kills you before you can play your big turn 5/6.
Ill give it to ya that it does feel bad to lose against but its not really unfair compared to many decks out there. It just always feels bad to lose to a strong combo deck.
It’s very satisfying, when it goes off. The trick is to survive until about turn 5. This is difficult, despite the removal run in this deck. If the meta were slower, this deck might be a contender. Right now, I don’t believe it’s viable.
Lemme know if you have different luck than me.
well sometimes the demon summoned by pact on turn 4 survives for a turn ( usually vs frost dk because they freeze it )
frogot to add
im guessing we play similar decks meaning turn 4 8/8 surviving into turn 5 means
sacrificial summoner to get flesh behemoth out
Hey, would you mind please sharing your list? I haven’t seen one running Sacrifical Summoner before.
So like he said. Back to the same previous meta.
Well, yeah. The last 2 years have basically just been the game accruing more and more power creep that just replaces the previous power creep. We’ve only seen substantial nerfs a few times: once for The Demon Seed, once when they took Warrior out behind the shed, and finally when they decapitated Wildpaw Gnoll. In the last TWO YEARS.
There’s just a set of decks available in standard that never got nerfed, only replaced because of power creep.
Curse Implock
Brann Armor Druid
Big Spell Mage
Enrage Warrior* (weak class but good deck previously)
Beast Hunter
Pure Paladin
Naga/Bless Priest
Minelock
Felic DH
Parrot Shaman (the one with parrots, bolner, mutanus, etc)
Thief Rogue
Shockspitter Hunter* (still poops on slow decks)
All of these decks were at or near the top of the meta and some point in the last year, and none of them have seen significant nerfs. Blizzard would literally have to kneecap all of these decks just to get us back to a point where we weren’t constantly saying “JFC this meta sucks.”
So we’re just gonna keep frost DK broken to keep another potential broken deck in check?
no idea what to change to improve it
mailbox dancer is there to coin the slime , tamsim or just extra mana in case i drop thaddius and is easier to control your hand size with coins for abysal pact +sacrifcial summoner plays
i wanted the deck to be more flexible instead of depending on slime
and it can help being able to pull the horsemen out with so many 5 mana minions im running (4 + astalor second form)
you probably know this but if you summon drathir with habeas corpses its effect will trigger before habeas destroys it
Thanks! I’ll see how it fares and let you know about any improvements I might make.
Edit: Could you please share the code?
Yeah, this deck is annoying. Like whoever thought Thaddius was a great Idea, clearly was oblivious to the fact that there are a number of ways players are able to play this 10 cost mana card extremely early. This is the first time a Mini set has ever left me saying to myself… WTF.
This was is? but there’s so much more to bash ones head in.
