I am making this thread in response to a lot of dribble from this thread here. New mining warlock excavate cards revealed - #60 by Schyla-1490
Hearing people freakout over Warlocks Excavation Snake reward are way out of line.
The majority of cards Warlock got are complete trash. Especially it’s excavate cards. They want Warlock (first of all) to spend 800 dust for a worse Mortal Coil.
Look how trash that Epic card is for an excavate card. We have to deal 1 damage an KILL the target to then excavate a single treasure. This piece of junk should be deal 1 damage excavate a card, if the target dies draw a card for being an epic imo. Like C’mon this is not good, followed up by Warlock’s 4 mana Yeti with Taunt? That’s it? It has to die to get a treasure to boot, so it’s delayed unless the Warlock sac’s it off.
So there’s Warlocks excavate cards, an wooo the class get’s a trashy neutral 2 drop everyone who got stuck slaving in the mines for the expansion has to run. Followed by some other piece of junk 5 mana rush minion. But at least those cards have Battlecry.
Mind you, if a Warlock in a single match played allllll of those cards they get a max of x2 Snakes. But ohh no, the Snake has Battlecry… it does a crazy effect… that every other Azerite theme’d creature does… Sounds like a win the game card. My issue is Warlock compared to Deathknight has WAY better excavate cards.
Deal 3 damage to any target, get a treasure? Their 4 mana minion instantly gives a treasure an IT COST ZERO LOL.
I would LOVE to have there epic payoff card compared to Warlocks garbage Legendary Tram guy. They get a 7 mana 7/7 taunt an a fat discount of ANY card for 7 mana.
Meanwhile what does Warlock get? A totally garbage legendary slot 7 mana 4/4 that spawns a board of 3/3’s with Rush. If you have ever played Warlock, especially right now with Crazed Conductor you ought to know an even EARLIER board of 3/3’s just get’s swatted away like nothing. Now imagine being at 7 mana like that card will do something.
Warlocks odd Soul chick card who did the same with Soul Shards was equally super bad. I know, played the card. I am super sad they went that lazy with that design an brought it back.
The only thing I want to bring positivity too about the cards from Badlands is 2.
#1.) Fracking.
This card is a 1 mana scry bottom deck an draw. Yeah we have to blow up x2 cards to draw it (cause hurr durr warlock things) but this is still a good card to pick up for your collection if you like Warlock.
#2.) Pop’gar the Putrid.
This card right here, is going to be the cause of a nerf an I hate it for that reason. The card is really good, but what’s the problem no one has mentioned? Ohh, well I’ll give you guys spoilers… This is going to turn Crescendo into a 1 mana massive Lifesteal board clear.
Which guess what else use to be a giant problem when that was around? Ding ding… Demon Hunter remember?
The other cards for Warlock are just so disappointing. We have the sludge mechanic which wants to place them on the bottom of the deck. The 2 drop will place 2 on landing in board an death. An the Rush minion at least gives 1 in the hand instead of just placing on bottom of deck. Yet this mechanic always targets the lowest health target.
So Paladins annoying tokens? Woo a wasted 3 damage on it. None of them can trigger all together. An we have a 4 mana 7/7 that deletes our deck, which wow… let us help you defeat us by destroying our deck, an you play your what? Brand new Deathknight 1 mana removal an your good.
I just had to get this massive rant off my chest. Cause seeing people claim “Warlocks the King of excavate” BS! Was so unreal the class is NOT anywhere close to amazing with what it got. An that fact that I love this class an can notice we’re going to get nerfed again because of a lifesteal wipe with Crescendo just makes me even more sad.
If you like Warlock like I do, best of luck to us in the expansion. I am going to destroy with Pop’gar before the nerfs come. But our Legendary excavate treasure is by no means “the best” when it comes to “getting it in hand”.
