Very casual walk to legend homebrew

This month I’m playing probably ten percent of what I’d normally play, due to the game really being in a rut for me but also personal reasons unrelated to the game.

I’ve seen people posting about no one playing homebrews anymore on this forum, but I’d like to point those people to kapslocke or sigtyr’s Reno DH, or in my case actual Reno druid.

Yes, this is an actual Reno druid (doesn’t run duplicates unlike 99 percent of decks that run Reno), and the reason I created it is because I really find all the meta decks not only unfun, but pretty repulsive.

This deck can actually beat nearly any deck in the meta, unfortunately it is draw dependent. I’ve beaten many Warlocks (pre nerf) with this deck, as well as pallies and most aggressive decks out there.

Basic strategy is, ramp as hard and fast as you can, and if it’s aggro you want to draw Reno as early as possible (keep in Mulligan). Dropping Reno stabilises the game and you can almost always win.

Versus control ramp is not as important as doomkim as early as possible, it cripples their entire game. After doomkin, you assemble your win condition typically death Beatle or windfury weapon plus massive attack buff.

I made the deck strategy sound simple, and it really is, but it has many impactful choices along the way and other than draw and yoggs prison, is very low on RNG. it’s sadly one of the highest skill cielling decks in the format.

It’s not an amazing win rate deck, but if you are tired of polarization, this deck is probably the lowest polarization deck I’ve played in a long time, less polarized than excavate rogue and Reno shaman.

Don’t expect amazing results, but it’s a super solid deck where every game counts.

Note, if you are running into a tone of plague dks, swap fizzle in etc to steam cleaner. Plague DK is very winnable without cleaner but cleaner bumps win rate by probably 5 percent whereas fizzle helps only in ultra greedy games.

or you can go Beetle Druid and hit them for 30 in Turn 6 with the same prerequisites.
Beetle Druid is this deck but better.

No it’s not, I played death beetle extensively. Good luck beating pally or any aggressive deck now that they nerfed shattered reflection (can’t hit Titans is debilitating.) you need that to stabilize the game vs aggro, v otherwise your dead in before the screen loads (vs aggro.)

Death beetle pure might be okay at high legend where the players hate to play aggro but on the climb to legend good luck.

This deck has the same defense as Beetle Druid with even less consistency.
In what way are you fighting for board?

I have consistently hit for 30 in Turn 6 or 7 with Beetle.
This just seems like a less consistent version.

Reno. If you read the post this is made clear. Vs control not a big deal.

Then you must be pulling god draws consistently.

Your lucky if you ramp to 11 turn 6. Not to mention nearly every death beetle deck runs one copy of the beetle because two is wasteful, meaning the very design of the game is NOT to draw the card until you need it, the flip side of that is its twice as inconsistent as running two copies.

Your wild and unsubstantiated claim has made me interested in calculating the probability that you can get death beetle combo off by turn 6 in a typical 30 card death beetle deck, but my estimate of this happening (having played tens of games of this deck myself) is probably less than one percent.

Reno is also in Beetle Druid.
In your situation with the less consistent deck you need to keep it in hand just to not lose.
I ain’t betting the whole game in drawing Reno, Druid is just a bad choice of a class for nonduplicate because you have no clears.

I just learned the inside-outs of the deck after exhausting it.

That’s exactly the one I play.
The win con is Beetle into discounted Solar Eclipse into Shattered Reflections.

You are free to speculate.
All I am saying is this is a cope list.
If you want to climb learn Beetle Druid and you’ll have an easier time.
If you are tired of Standard and want to try something new go ahead and play Reno Druid which is not even a homebrew deck by the way it’s an actual dekc.

Nearly everything you’ve said so far has been either completely fabricated, irrelevant or just flat out wrong, and I don’t have the time to refute it all.

But this one I wanted to call out. So you are saying the deck I posted above and this Reno druid are effectively the same deck: https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/decks/dragon-reno-druid-3/ ?

They are both Reno Druid are they not?
If anything yours is probably worse because it’s a homebrew.

If anyone wants they can go ahead.
Calling me out . this ain’t twitter buddy I said my piece other adults can decide for themselves.

Lol make up your mind, which is it? Is it a homebrew or is it not? Or is it a homebrew when it’s convenient for you and not a homebrew when it isn’t?

Well I’ve just run into several plebs like yourself playing the gimped death beetle deck you atest to, and haven’t lost with my homebrew-that-isn’t-a-homebrew yet.

And by the way, in every case they get the combo off maybe turn 8 or 9 earliest, a lot of time they just die to fatigue lol.

If you wanna get caught up in that we can both talk to a wall and there will be no difference. Do you really not understand what I am saying?

Plebs? You sound upset.

Maybe in your peak that happens.
Good luck in the future.

In the spirit of homebrews this is my aggro shaman list thats carried me to legend almost every month for the past year or so… Obviously not the same list from the start of the year as I update it every expansion/miniset release. Most of it rotates out in a week and I’ll miss it:

Pack the house is in there for fun. You can replace it with a multitude of things like rotgill, but I want to someday do the impossible and summon all the ogres from that card so it remains.

That is a lot of legendaries… so much for casual… lol.
