So on turn 9 I play Rune of the Archmage, and it casts 3 secrets: Vengeful Visage, Ice Barrier, and Frozen Clone. My opponent is playing Rogue, and has his HP weapon equipped. So on turn 10, he attacks face with a Water Revenant he got from a randomly generated Command of Neptulon that he played on turn 9. So Ice Barrier triggers normally, but Vengeful Visage also triggers and hits his hero. But my Water Revenant takes 1 damage after attacking his hero because I think the game registers him having a 1-attack weapon equipped as his hero having 1 attack. This then also allows my opponent to cast Deliverance on it, and since it is missing 1 health gives him a new 3/3 Water Revenant. It did not matter during this game, but I could see games happening where this sort of interaction could end up making a big difference (especially if your opponent has a weapon with more than 1 attack since it could be seen in a way as their weapon having windfury and not losing durability on the second swing).
TL;DR
- Opponent (Rogue) uses hero power.
- Opponent plays Command of Neptulon.
- I play Rune of the Archmage, which casts Vengeful Visage.
- Opponent swings at face with one of their Water Revenants.
- Vengeful Visage triggers, spawning me a Water Revenant.
- Water Revenant hits opponent’s face.
- My summoned Water Revenant takes 1 damage from opponent’s hero power weapon. <<<------- key interaction
- Opponent casts Deliverance on my (now 5/3) Water Revenant, killing it and summoning a 3/3 Water Revenant of their own.
I can also provide the replay link if requested. I would have posted it in this post, but I cannot post links.
I have never seen this happen before, and maybe I missed something. I am not a coder, so I really do not know what happened. I remember seeing them try to swing at my face before seeing Vengeful Visage resolve, so maybe that could have something to do with it.
