Not sure if it’s meant to work this way, but when Velen, Leader of the Exiled triggers Adaptive Amalgam’s deathrattle, it shuffles a copy of Adaptive Amalgam into your deck, rather than a copy of Velen, Leader of the Exiled.
This seems to imply that the battlecries and deathrattles are being cast not by Velen, but by the original cards from beyond the grave, which I thought was a little counter-intuitive.
Just looking for clarification if it’s supposed to work this way.
By the way it is worded(and how effects work in HS) I could see it working either way, since it currently works this way I would expect this to be the intended and not a bug.
No way. Then how do you explain the interaction with Shudderwock and minions that say text: “Summon a copy or copies of this.” (such as Doppelgangster or Azerite Chain Gang) with “this” implying not from the original minion but the current card being played?
Shudderwock doesn’t say that he triggers their battle cry he says repeat(he repeats them)
The English cards use two different words so a different outcome can be expected
Hearthstone’s wording is frequently inconsistent, and oftentimes completely off the wall for the sake of flavor.
And whatever word is used, the implication is still that Velen is the card activating the effects. If they wanted to be clearer, they could word it like “deathratte: all draenai you played this game trigger their battlecry and deathrattle”.
Assuming it’s meant to work that way.
not a bug
this is consistent with similar wording
this velen has the same wording as xyrella the devout
