Because you insist on coming here to stink up the place.
Yes, Blizzard states that your ability to buy packs day 1 wonât change, IN RESPONSE to people saying you wonât be able to do so, and instead drip feed.
thats the excuse you always use when someone ask you a question you claim to have the answer for âŚ
Voicing the potential negatives is allowed. Iâm sorry if that bothers you, but I do love this game and care about it as much as you do.
I have played as long as anyone and I distrust the company because they had no intention of addressing the revisions. Instead the information got leaked, forcing them to defend the model.
You spoke about them saying things directly. The only reason they addressed anything is that they had no choice.
That makes me very cautious to endorse something based on the vague claims made by Mr. Ayala. We all saw the hypothetical model.
We all know it to be more effort for less reward.
He now claims it will be more, to which I say:
More what? Right now I already play the game more than is healthy and I simply have no more time to sink into it.
The idea that this model wonât be more effort for the same rewards seems not only possible, it seems likely to me.
After all; every gamer I know has told me that similar systems in other products were exactly that.
So while I will wait and hope, you will pardon me if I donât cheer until I know with certainty.
How is it a âpotentialâ negative if it has zero basis in what theyâre actually saying because you made it up?
If I am right and this model turns out to be a gated system that only rewards equal gold after jumping through a series of obstacles will you say you were wrong?
I have already said I will if your belief turns out to be accurate.
That description applies to quests, which is what we have now.
So, no?
If Blizzardâs only objective was to provide more rewards to players or make rewards available in the new game format, it would have been childâs play to make daily quests doable in every competitive play format.
They have more reasons for the change and any adult should see that clearly.
Why, because the gnomes inside your head told you?
You see what you want to, Mand. I will remain circumspect.
DMaster86 :
I donât want packs instead of gold, i want the same gold (actually more, but at least the same) as before, and then i decide if i want the new packs or to open some frozen throne packs to flesh out some commons and rares. Or use it for arena, battleground perks, adventures or whatever suit my fancy.
But i want to decide, not you. If i want to save 100 packs worth of gold for a big opening day 1 of the new expansion, i should be able to just like i did before.
And i want the battleground perks be purchasable f2p.
Iksar :
Great, we also donât want you to earn packs instead of gold. As a result, you will still earn lots of gold you can choose to do whatever you want with

GeorgeOrwell
I like olâ George O.
I see what exists. You refuse to.
Iâm comfortable with that. Why are you?
I understood virtually nothing of that, but We shall see.
Right or wrong, I will be gracious.
That much is obvious.
Now whoâs trolling? I have stayed on message. You have chosen to sling insults.
Itâs not just that, they XP system would mean that you can earn your gold & rewards by playing Battlegrounds, the new game mode and whatever else. Right now the ROI on BGs is utter crap. If everything awards more proportional experience, you can still earn your big lump of gold by the end of an expansion without feeling punished by playing different modes since they would all award XP. Having a seasonal leveling experience is also something theyâve probaly found helps improve engagement as it gives a sense of progress in additon to just the regular constructed ladder.
Heâs stating what the concern we have is, then explaining that said concern isnât going to be an issue because despite Benâs infamous âI earn 5k gold between expansionsâ, what YOU and I earn between expansions shouldnât change as long as we play the same amount, weâll just be getting those little other rewards on top of it.
I very much hope this is true.
Well, to be fair, Blizzard has a long track record of dishonesty, deceit, and obfuscation.
What I know for certain is that I typically buy the $50 pre-expansion bundle. That, plus my gold earnings from daily quests and crowns, nets me around 150 packs on launch day. If I find I have less than 150 packs to open on launch day, then Ayala is a liar. Itâs that simple.
I have an expectation, and if the new system fails to meet or exceed that expectation, then they have lied. If it does meet the expectation, I will be happy to champion the new approach.
The game is fun. One can still enjoy a game even if he feels the developers are dishonest people.
