“Cast Spells or Summon 500 times in Ranked Standard. (Druid and Dark Gift cards counts 2x)”
So, off the cuff, this quest sounds miserable. Am I to assume that playing a minion counts as summoning? I suppose that’s really the make or break of this topic.
The good thing about those weekly quests is that they aren’t really needed to finish the track. Just do the daily quests and play a little and you can finish the track before the event ends.
If you want to try to finish it i would say something that is a modified Dungar/Dragon druid would probably be your best bet. I’m still looking at what deck i would build to finish this asap.
I think the quest will progress faster than people think, so the total number is so high. It’s casting spells OR summoning. That’s 90% of what people do in games. Pretty sure summoning a location counts too. The things that don’t count might be equipping a weapon or card draw (but card draw usually comes from a spell or a summon)
And 30 cards in deck doesn’t mean you only cast or summon 30 times. Consider these…
Zerg has zerglings, banelings, queens generating larva to get more summons
Terran has starship pieces to summon and then you summon a starship.
For both terran and zerg, reborn should count as a second summon
Protoss priest summons a lot
Protoss mage cast spells a lot
Protoss rogue and druid does a bit of both. Rogue has bounce and the pirate mini do cast/summon a bunch at once, while druid has a lot of spells to draw and setup their eventual hero power attacks
If/when Bob yoinks somebody’s thingwell at least you get 3 coins to count as spell
Hunter may be casting bananas or secrets a lot, getting extra copies of stuff with scout, spamming drinks to buff grunter…
I think unless you’re playing some slow deck that only play one card a turn (or heaven forbid you pass/hero power), the quest will complete itself over the week.
How about they give us a quest to add more deck slots. Mabye 50 or something would be enough (and even then probably not)… Or at least have the deck list for each format be separate from each other.
Update: just finished the new weekly. It really went by fast, but one thing that helped was a long druid vs druid with kil’jaeden and greyborogh. Lots of greyborogh were summoned. Got like 300 out of that one game.
Next week is play 30 ranked games or tavern brawl. Tavern brawl counts x5. This one doesn’t sound too intimidating if you remember it’s meant to be done over a week. edit: and as long as the tavern brawl isn’t the one that has entry fee (and the brawl rules don’t lead to long games), you can go there
It’s mainly because people didn’t know the gravity of “summon” instead of play. A card may summon 7 1/1s and it will count as 7, maybe even 8 if it counts the play as well.
