I’ve played Hearthstone since Beta, and even grit my teeth through some of the previous terrible metas. I’ve never had less fun than currently. The Warcraft Anniversary event is the only reason I’ve logged in, and each game feels more painful than the last. There’s minimal interaction between decks anymore - it’s just a bunch of bloat and spam from hand with burn over the top. The game now feels like a PvE experience given how little thought and interaction occurs between players currently. Things like Quasar Rogue can’t even be countered by running explicitly a counter deck like Secret Hunter.
The balance patch coming today had better save the game because I cannot understand how the balance team shipped this expansion in it’s current state.

You’ll have to wait a little longer since the patch is only thursday, but yeah I mostlt agree. The only other time the meta sucked as hard was in Stormwind.
I’d take that over this all day long.
My issue with this meta is things happen too soon across the board. There are too many cards that drop in the first five turns that you either answer or lose the game. It may take couple turns to finish, but the game was lost when you couldn’t immediately answer a three or four cost card or some hugely discounted card that just ends the game.
I find myself conceding more games than I complete right now because it’s not worth the time to play it out and still lose.
It’s not one deck or card, it’s the whole game is just too much too fast and it’s dumb. It feels like Marvel Snap right now… you play your three turns and it’s done.
Edit: Mage plays seven damage battle cry card on curve for five mana and leaves a huge body on the board for the following turn. I don’t have life steal cards in hand, not enough rush to get back, and that’s the game. Right there, turn five. Dumb. That card should not go face. Same with the stupid do six damage rogue card.

These patches are band-aids on massive, gaping wounds. The devs need to go.

They need to kill the rampant mana cheating across the board with all classes, its not going to happen though. They will 100% not nerf Sonya when the card has been a massive problem .

I feel like this gets said with about 80% of the sets that get released. This meta has caused me to play pretty much zero standard, and once my pass on BGs runs out, I’m probably uninstalling and bouncing.
My personal opinion, this meta is worse than Stormwind. That meta got me to uninstall and not play for over a year.
