I know this is basically the first month and we should give blizzard a discount but the feedback still necessary and after play 1 month of twist i have some considerations to make.
- Create banlists before you release a twist format , not after. Basically think the formats harder to minimize changes during the month.
This format is already 1 month only and despite of tweaks being necessary many people will craft cards for twist.
If you go banning and nerfing twist cards middle month on top of it this will be unsustainable.
- Don’t keep a format for a long time just changing the rules.
This is more of personal fear based on the fact that those rule change aren’t big enough to maintain a format fresh.
You gonna perceive for example that if the changed the ruleset today many of the decks would get virtually no change or too small of one to matter.
- Ruleset should get crazier than just a few card restrictions. Actually have a ruleset restraining cards feel like a lazy work.
You can just adress it via banlist rather than call it your “rule change”.
- Some suggestions for actual rules to try:
Turbo mode
Each player gain 2 mana and draw 2 cards at the start of their turns instead of 1.
A blast from the past
Cards from the oldest set in the current format cost 1 less.
Highlander mode
No dupes allowed in your deck.
Twisted cards
Blizzard will give a small set of non collectionable cards for people to use in twist decks together with the current ones.
Giants duel
Hero health increased to 60, at the start of the game shuffle a copy of each player decks into it’s owner deck.
Well i think it’s enough to get the difference between an actual game changer and just restraining some cards.

This is a good thread from you. I like how you wanted to break down your experience with the mode, an your suggestions are good ideas imo.
If I had to offer an idea of my own to the mode it would be this.
Twist Day! Every Thursday all cards are free to use in the mode of Twist. Allowing everyone a chance to play Twist to it’s full potential for a single day.

Do you actually think they have someone spend a large amount of time to look for synergy outliers manually? Salary is money.
They have the player base to run tests for them. They release the rules and after a week look at the outlier decks players have made.

They already know that quest lines are overwhelmingly unhealthy to the format but they are still releasing it like this.
Yes on those cards that are obviously going to cause problems.
The only reason they are not banning cards before the release of the mode is that they want people to make purchases. If they were to ban overpowered cards, a significant portion of whales would lose interest because that’s a major reason why they would spend money on a mode that is destined to be thrown into the dumpster in the first place.
Yup, good post dude, seems like really valuable feedback to me and I liked your suggestions.

Good post, OP. Constructive , informative, and valuable, in my opinion. Your entire description is something I agree with wholeheartedly. Add in the secondary idea from the next poster, about a twist day! Good stuff.
These implementations would likely make people excited about the format exponentially. Not just excited because it’s new, craft new cards, have some of them banned forthwith, and become angrier with the dev team.
I’m going to give an alternate take here, but when they give full refunds I am not upset at the mid season bans.
I made a pile of dust because twist is a thing when they nerfed cards I had lots of copies of. They can do this every month, tbh.

Ahhh my bad. I didn’t realize they were giving refunds. That changes things to make my view more favourable, and certainly what you describe sounds fair. More than fair, even.

I know some of the people who made decks might be upset because support cards they may have crafted were not refunded, but I had stuff laying around that got full dust refunds.
It sucks to say it, but there’s no way we don’t see NEEDED adjustments during a season. Nobody wants a broken deck swimming in the waters of a meta, nor are the devs actually going to put in the necessary time to make sure that doesn’t happen before they release a new season.
All that can be hoped for is the changes are done in the first couple weeks if that.
There actually is.
If you take your time and try to not deliver anything too broken.
Some stuff there was kinda obvious like Quest druid since it already dominate wild.
Also i did not said no adjustments.
I said to minimize the number because people liking or not refunds will not refund the entire deck.
If people start taking 500/1000 dust prejudice per month it will get bad really fast.
This is what I’m saying. I don’t think the devs will put in the effort.
