Trying to understand Miracle Salesman card

i can’t seem to find a use for the snake oil that is put in my hand on it’s death. it’s tradeable and i guess it’s a low cost way of drawing a card?

i built a pally deck i found listed on HS tracker, that has 2 of them in it. as a new player, my current options for building decks is limited. so is my understanding of cards like snake oil

all i could find so far is mentions of using snakeoil saleman in various builds, but no explanations of what the oil actually does. nothing in that pally deck seems to buff it and the card does nothing if i throw it at a minion or the other player.

thanks in advance.

If your spell damage is raised then the Snake Oil does that amount of damage.

So if you have spell damage +2 then Snake Oil does 2 damage.

i see. idk why it’s included in these decks i have seen then. only buffs are from using Crusader Aura which shows as buffing minions and i have thrown a snake oil when it was up and nothing. same for Zilliax which also buffs minions when played.

nothing that gives actual spell damage that i see.

results have been good with this deck by my noob standards, but i would like to play it better. it came up under standard rated , but works in wild as well.

i was up to gold 1 trying to hit the next save point, but ran into some crazy decks and fell back to 3.

Here are some examples:

Common · Minion · Festival of Legends · Battlecry: If you control no other minions, summon two 1/2 Amps with Spell Damage +1.

Legendary · Minion · TITANS · Spell Damage + (Improved by each spell school you

Common · Minion · Core · Spell Damage +1 Overload: (1)

Legendary · Minion · Core · Spell Damage +1 Deathrattle: Draw a card.

Common · Minion · Core · Spell Damage +1

thanks again, i do have many spell damage increase cards, but trying to understand this deck build that has no spell damage cards at all, but have 2 miracle salesman cards in them.

three different flood pally decks showing but i can’t understand why they are included.

It’s a cheap minion which gives you a tradable card. Drawing a new card for 1 mana can be useful.

cool i questioned that in my original post but wasn’t sure if that was the only use in this type of a build.

many thanks

A 2/2 for 1 mana that provides an added benefit is pretty good, which is why there are decks that still run it after the nerf. Pre-nerf, zero cost Snake Oil(s) were sick in decks that ran spell damage.

as i mentioned earlier, i was seeing that card in non-spell damage builds. do appreciate the response though.

The 2/2 minion for 1 mana is strong in aggro paladin decks like the one you seem to be using (esp to combo with Boogey Down 4-mana Finale spell).
In such a deck, the snake oil is simple to trade for a new card on any turn you finish with 1 mana left over and nothing else to do with it. That’s all it does in that paladin deck.
One other use i do sometimes with Snake Oil is after putting down 4-mana 2/6 Puppetmaster Dorian on turn 5 or 6, you trade the oils to draw and copy 1/1 puppets of any minions traded that way.
