Trusty companion + amalgam interaction -> bug?

so i’m unsure if this is actually a bug, but the interaction seems a little wonky … i thought i could try to utilize amalgams to fill in the gaps while working on the “murlocs of a feather” achievement and wound up in a situation where i was able to get 3 azshara spell copy treasures that i was able to turn into a copy of the trusty companion spell … i had an amalagam of the deep on board but no minions left in the deck … in a previous game i had already done one trusty companion on an amalgam and it pulled a mech so i made a note that mech was done, and i used 3 other trusty companions on a naga, a totem, and an elemental (and in one of those game i had no more of that minion type in the deck, and it still counted progression) … so i was hoping that playing 4 more trusty companions on the amalgam would actually complete the achievement … however, when i looked at the achievement after the game, i was greeted with zero more progression … so it seems like either it is only treating amalgam as a single type (mech apparently?) and not really allowing it to be treated as “all” types … it would be nice if this quest would actually respect the “all” tribe and at least randomly fill one of the remaining tallies … instead of being rewarded for a creative solution i’ve gotta drag through who knows how many more games just to align another minion type with having the spell … now you might wonder why go through all that trouble to copy/bounce azshara and set up something so elaborate … well, i didn’t actually open a trusty companion in pack openings and i’m trying to discover the spell to complete this achievement, and for whatever reason, maybe because it’s an epic, i don’t seem to find the spell that often … to get to the place i did against gold 10 bots was relatively easy as opposed to actually rolling the spell through bouncing discovery minions … in any case, this seems like an unfortunate stipulation that you can only use amalgams toward the mech tribe … maybe this ought to be looked into?

i will expect it randoms it …

for sure this is impossible , amalg will not look for achievement progression and give you what is missing … and the 0 progression can mean is bugged like you say but can be bad luck and randomed what you already got not only mechs.

I think you can improve your setup , and amalgam the amalgam to discover what you miss and use trusty companion on them.
Or just add the remaining race minions to deck …

When i did the hunter chameleon achievement , i don’t remember how many attempts i have done to get the last one (taunt in my case )

yeah this is how i wound up finishing it off, just annoying to have to do this way after such a sweet setup

true but i’d need to make another account to see if that’s the case since i was at 4/8 … i wish i had stuck to my original gameplan of only doing amalgam, then the bad luck argument would be much weaker
