Toughts on the new theme?

Personally i’m very into it, it has cool lore characters like Archimonde and kil’jaeden and the overall space theme being of course based on the burning legion, eredar and draenei is something i really welcome

That one is looks cool.

And they still have some jokes like the amongus DH.

I really like it. I’m not bothered by expansions that are lighter in tone but it is nice to see a more serious one again.

Same, to be honest i could not take another vacation expansion or whatever

It’s alright.

I still don’t see the attention to detail Classic cards had but compared to Perils, Whizbang’s and Showdown art, it’s better.

I like it a bit. Especially since they touch on Argus lore.

And giving Draenei more attention too. Second favorite race in WoW. Outside of Troll

Rejoice!

Love it, it is all I want from Hearthstone. Has just the right amount of odd and whacky you’d expect from Hearthstone. Not taking itself too seriously but leaning on the interesting background lore warcraft offers. Exactly what I want so 10/10.

I want to know what the plan is to make the board relevant and cards you play to it matter again? Interesting idea that is doomed to fail in a meta where decks just blast you out of nowhere for 30+ damage, make the board irrelevant or a combination of both.

The mechanic feels very old and not with how the game plays out in current HS. Building a minion to the board for no real reason is questionable at best.

I love it, I’m a huge fan of science fiction and astronomy/ astrophysics.

Also, I’ve seen all the cards since I was logged into the leaked client for few hours. There are a huge amount of references to science fiction books and other media:
Like the 42 priest minion being a reference to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, there’s a Star Wars reference, a Protoss reference from Starcraft, a Justice League reference, there’s a few more but I forget.

The theme is cool and the artwork is arguably some of the best we’ve seen from HS so far.

If the expansions gonna take the starships the way I’m thinking…
This may very well be the return of colossals. I always wondered why we never had minions with multiple limbs that share a health bar, i.e a space ship flanked by two engines, or something like the unstable flesh boss from Darkest Dungeon
Guess we’re gonna learn the reason why they never tried that idea prior very soon

Seems pretty neat, didn’t look at all of the cards, but several of em that i did see seem like they got potential

I want to know exactly how that Kil’jaeden card works. If it works like i think it does it’s nuts.

It’s cute that they think the game goes past 4 turns.

If Farseer Nobundo is what I think he is “This spell copies the last spell you played” but for shaman…
The gears in my head are turning already, what about yalls? Anyone standing out like a sore thumb to you? I got immediate vietnam flashbacks when I saw what hunter’s getting.

Why did I mention Hakkar earlier. WHY DID I HAVE TO BRING UP HAKKAR. :scream: tracking hunter hakkar Brann from Tombs of Terror is gonna- TERROR IS GONNA BE REALITY

To the OP question: I don’t know why they went so far from Wow to begin with.
There is 20 years of lore to draw from.
It isn’t like they would run out of expansion ideas for a very long time.

Sci-fi is my favorite genre so I don’t need much to like it a bit. I don’t even know how I started at Warcraft instead of Starcraft (maybe because it was less popular).

I’d sooner play a Starcraft card game probably.

I’d like to see something done about this, too. It’s even worse in wild.

Big thumbs up from me. Finally a theme i can get behind.
