Too random..lazy developers

This game is too random. Its so annoying and lazy developmemt. Blizzard you have gone to the dumps just like the rest of the gaming industry. Every deck has a ton of discover cards. Why not just give each player 30 random cards to start with. This game used to be so much better.

I do agree that the ENTIRE gaming industry is worse than ANY politician anymore.

I sometimes wish the developers weren’t so lazy so I could read the OP’s of people that I have ignored. But alas

Imagine complaining about randomness in a card game…

Imagine assuming the rest of the gaming industry (or even just ccgs) are as bad as hearthstone. Most ccgs are great, it’s hearthstone that’s the outlier.

RNG needs a fine balance.

example, wow classic rng is loved by most, me included, there’s rng, but simple to understand rng. wow retail is a clownfiesta of rng numbers.

hearthstone is the same. RNG done right can be fun, but enemy targeted and too powerful rng is not. many times did I laugh at mad bomber, many times did I get mad at dr.boom.

RNG in hearthstone should have a good chance to backfire.

Are the people on this forum 15 years old? Imagine imagining being an older person around two 15 year olds. They both keep imagining each other to death. It’s kinda like that really cool scene in The Sandman with the leader of hell but without anything interesting happening.

I dont even know what it is that you are trying to say though

Have you read or watched The Sandman? Are you, or are you constantly around anyone who is roughly, 15 years old? If the answer to both of these is “No”, then I’m not sure I can help you

Thanks for the recommendation. I had a few Audible credits and so bought the series (that’s available as of now). Looks like we’re waiting for the final act.

I don’t know about what Audible has to offer, but I got the collected Sandman comics for Christmas this year because my interest in the series was renewed with the Netflix adaptation. I feel like a someone should be writing me a check for this post. Maybe I’ll send a tweet to Gaiman asking for money lol

It’s an Audible Original, and is read by an ensemble cast. It looks really good. The only thing is it’s a graphic novel, and so that part (which is huge) is missing.

Sorry, I can’t pay you.

I actually feel like I’m missing out on an adaptation of the story of which I was unaware. I love audio books. I used to do a short horror fiction podcast years ago. I love audio fiction. Short plug for Welcome to Nightvale for no reason. Someone pay me!

Its not random enough… Patchwork after patchwork off of hematurges. Nerf the DK discover pool already.

I honestly think nerfing discover options is more difficult than just nerfing all the cards that “discover”. Just change the cards that discover other cards to actually have parameters instead of open discovery. Make them discover based on whatever. Rarity, mana cost, stats, minion type, whatever. Anything is better than open discover that is as ubiquitous as it is now.

The discover cards are also way too easy to weave into your curve. I don’t necessarily mind a consistent discover pool if it actually costs some tempo to get those good card discover options.

Imagine not knowing that this game is so random that it shouldn’t even be considered a card game but more along the lines of craps or roulette.

I just do not think they care, but it has become very much slot machine with all the discover and random generated cards.

I think there is room for discover in the game, but when neither player knows what is in their decks because it is not there yet, the game is no longer about strategy or skill.
