Yes I know that in Wild it’s much worse but why is Mage able to gain 30+ armor in any given match on top of multiple Solid Alibi’s, board freezes and 20+ spell damage swing turns? Or better yet, Druid gaining 45+ armor by turn 8 then OTK you next turn. It’s fine when Warrior can do it because that’s part of Warriors identity and they have to play a control deck to make it work but the Druid deck is an OTK deck and the Mage deck is basically an Aggro deck.
I think it should be toned down a bit. I mean what chance do you even have if you play a deck with finite damage? Against a druid that gains 45 armor by turn 8 on top of having lets say 25 health you literally don’t have enough damage in your deck to kill them for the rest of the game let alone by the time they OTK you in 1-3 turns.

Every deck needs some defense, except maybe aggro decks, for them offense is the best defense.
BTW ping mage and big spell mage aren’t aggro decks.
Freeze Mage is basically a face/aggro deck. Just more spell damage than minion damage

Haaaave you met quest druid
i dont think there is an aggro version of freeze mage
There’s the deck that just sends Arcane Bolt and Frozen Touch to face while freezing all your minions and summoning Volatile Skeletons.

There actually is such a deck at least i think i remember seeying that name i could be wrong but im not sure if they still use the words freeze mage.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention BDK. Not only does Vampiric Blood restore health, but it increases maximum health up to, I believe, 55.

I’d like to see some cards that can inflict damage directly to the enemy hero while ignoring armor.
(Edited for grammar.)
Yeah in other games its called true damage when they do that, could be interesting. I didn’t mention blood DK only because I feel like at least they are trying to stall you out as their win condition and win through attrition. The reason I mentioned the Druid deck specifically is because it basically gains the same amount of life but it is an OTK deck that you basically have to kill before they can kill you by turn 8-10. I’ve been trying a lot of aggressive decks lately and I literally keep running into the same problem where the druid will gain 10 armor from quest, gain 5 armor from Guff, gain 8 armor from Guff The Tough, gain 8 armor from Feral Rage, gain 16 armor from Chitinous Plating, gain 8 armor from Pathmaker, gain 5 armor from Astalor, then finally gain 16 armor from Brann plus Anuberak… That’s 76 plus or minus armor to chew through on top of already having 30 health. Literally how is any deck supposed to chew through that much armor by the time they kill you on turn 8-10 with a 56 damage OTK? The only way you can even beat them is by flooding the board as early as possible but even still I’ve had MANY games where they just armor through all my damage until they win.

I think holy damage would be the closest in the wow universe. but agree, would love some pure damage, if the meta is all armor, but i can see it being infuriating to face, also i just hit patchwork as a shaman, don’t ask me how
edit : i played his effect 6 times, Dk deck gone.

Point still stands lol. The fact that mage can get tons of more armor than warrior is weird thematically. The game is dying. Ask HOTS fans how it went once their esports scene died.
I want to point out that it’s illogical to say A does B, therefore, X is justified to do Y. It’s what’s called “whataboutism”.
(Note that I’m not telling you Qwark, but for others that think this way.)
I’d like to add, and I should have before, that watching your opponent gain armor to the point that you literally cannot kill them with the resources you have left is one of the most disheartening experiences to run into in this game, for me at least.
To restate, there ought to be standard cards that can pierce through armor and deal damage directly to the opponent’s health.

Warrior has been getting shafted on armor cards for the last couple of years. Druid is getting all the armor love and as for mage, only big spell mage really benefits from it.
There’s not enough armor in actuality. The problem with armor is that a certain class is the armor king, which is extremely strange considering that title should go to Warrior.
Sort of like how Priest isn’t the healing class, Warrior is not the armor class in today’s meta.

Well why is there so much armor in the game now anyways? Literally 2 years ago there was maybe 10x less armor in Standard and the game was much more balanced. Every other game I play is against quest druid gaining 8 armor per turn or more, an OTK by turn 8 deck shouldn’t have the ability to gain 76 armor in their deck.
Because the damage output that exists right now is ridiculously good. Again, you’re mainly having an issue with Druid, which for some strange reason was given massive amounts of armor. I don’t understand THAT, but what we should have is more armor for classes that should have armor, like Warrior.
2 years ago, Warrior had better armor in game than today. The armor that exists now is basically all in the hands of Druid. We need more armor spread out, less armor in Druid.
Because they started giving armor cards to classes that should only have limited amounts of them (like mage). The fact that druid can abuse minions the way they do because of mana reductions/increased mana cap is the sole reason why they can abuse armor the way they do. And 2 mana for 8 armor is rather nuts, even if it’s split over 2 turns. Honestly, Blizzard gave them the cards that should’ve gone to control warrior.

There’s so much armor and healing in the game right now that Hunter is almost unplayable at high ranks. No matter what hunter deck you build if if you go up against a Druid, Blood DK or Big Spell Mage you literally cannot kill them if you drew your entire deck and went face in one turn. I’ve had many matches with hunter where I know how much damage the deck is capable of doing and as soon as the druid player gains more than 30 armor across multiple turns I have to auto concede. It’s annoying to be forced to play stuff you don’t want to play to deal with this bs.
Also, I wouldn’t really care about this armor problem normally but as soon as they nerfed Construct Quarter it showed just how unbalanced the rest of the game is because Construct Quarter was the only card keeping these greedy OTK decks at bay for 2 weeks. Now I am against Quest OTK Druid maybe 60% of my matches so I’m being forced to play like Pure Paladin to deal with it.
But this is mainly an issue with how Hunter pairs up against Druid or Blood DK.
For example, take the opposite. There is not enough healing or armor right now for a Priest to out heal a Curse Warlock or Mine/phylactery Warlock. Not gonna happen.
This same applies when going against other classes. There’s not enough healing in the game to keep up with how much damage can be pushed out all at once.
What you’re experiencing is polarized matchups. Matchups where you have little to no chance to win, and then there are matchups where you have little to no chance of losing.
That’s how a lot of stuff is right now. It’s not just a Hunter problem. It’s a problem with a lot of decks right now because this year has been a major increase in OTK decks and combos along with damage increase that doesn’t come from board play.

Hopefully the rotation will fix these issues then
