If you’re SO good then why are you stuck at gold 10 just like me?
Y’all know who you are.
I don’t know what to say … except for well played.
Well played, from Legend 4000 ;), seriously though you can’t predict what people are saying bro, suck it up and say well played back, it’s just a game. I need to take my own advice btw.
Diamond 5, actually, but even so. Well played isn’t meant to be condescending. It’s literally a good game / good move emote. If you take it personally that’s totally you, bud. It’s in your head. Don’t psyche yourself out so much.
well played from wild legend 26 :3…standard case D5 cause didn’t invest much time there
I don’t care what anyone says, in any competitive game the well played is used by the loser first, not the winner.
Whenever the winner claims ‘‘well played’’ it definitely struck me as BM even if that’s not the intention. ESPECIALLY if the game isn’t over yet. This is definitely offensive gg and impolite.
If you play a braindead aggro deck, make multiple misplays or just get carried by insane RNG, why TF do you emote well played ? Like NO, this isn’t good and you’re full of crap
PS: love the way everyone posted their irrelevant ranks in this thread.
WELL PLAYED!
- From bronze 10
90% of the people who say well played in the game use it as a “haha I won” but in their heads they’re like “amg I’m so sportsmanlike because I said well played”. The other 10% I see people using it is for moves that were pretty normal moves and they act like I did something spectacular or something.
I find it to be a bm as well, but like I said, you don’t know what other people thinking. If the other player says " well played" a few turns before the game as actually over than I consider it as a bm wont say well played back
I say well played in probably 80%-90% of cases, win or lose, the only time I don’t is if someone played terribly (including myself) or had exceptionally good or bad luck.
Yes, it is so insulting to hit them with the ggwp at the end of each game.
it’s why in sc2 “ggwp” is considered bm and no gg is considered being a good sport.
oh wait.
If I’m feeling generous, I’ll greet and say well played. But, usually I’m pretty easy on the emotes. It’s best to always remember that it’s just a game (put it into perspective), that you do not know exactly the intention of the emoter (sometimes they’re not BMing), and to always consider your own emotes (don’t BM yourself).
I usually use emotes sparingly (as a Gold 4-2, fluctuating), usually only saying greetings and (when lethal is presented and one of us is seconds from death) Well played. I’ve always tried to use Well Played emotes and didn’t ever think they could even be considered BM until I got to hearthstone, where emoting is as bad as roping.
I squelch emotes in the first turn since beta. No regrets. Way too many toxic kids out there.
Indeed ,squelch at the start of all your games after some time it will become second nature and you will be doing it without even thinking about it.
Never accept friend request as well its just not worth it, if you play the game as a form of escapism this 2 steps will make your experience alot better.
Before the last killing blow:
Well played.
I don’t know how else to say good game. It’s weird that this triggers people. In any competitive game I’ve played throughout my life, you always say good game. It’s meant to be respectful.
How people turned this into a bad manner meaning is beyond me.
You’d make a fine disciple.
In tabletop MTG, it’s customary to say “good luck” at the start and “good game” at the end along with a handshake.
In starcraft it’s “glhf” at the start of the match and “ggwp” at the end.
In hearthstone it’s “hello” at the start and “well played” at the end.
It’s literally common(and I do mean VERY common) courtesy. The people who don’t UNDERSTAND courtesy and are psychotic enough to take the simplest of ingame interactions as a personal attack are the problem here.
I usually say well played right before opponent gives me lethal or when I concede if I feel that the opponent played well. I will also say well played if I win only because of RNG and opponent actually played so well that he should have won had it not been for RNG.
I also reply well played if he tells me well played first.
From wild legend.
There are some real online friends I made through accepting requests or sending requests. We cheer each other on, and some became friends on Facebook or other online platforms. We even chat about personal stuff outside of the game. Definitely worth it.
Yup any emote that is used repetitively comes across as harassing and BM.
