I’ve had this happen to me twice now while playing with my Warlock deck.
First time, I had Sargeras, the Destroyer in my hand, played a voidcaller, and when my opponent killed the Voidcaller, it summoned Sargeras. But on my turn when I tried to use its ability “To the Void!”… nothing happened… all minions remained on the board.
Then a few games later, I played Bane of Doom, and it summoned Sargeras from my Deck into the battlefield, and i again tried to use his abilities, but nothing happened.
Seems like a pretty major oversight in the card logic, and makes the card absolutely useless for three turns.

Sargeras’ powers are all deliberately worded to include the words “into the Twisted Nether” or “from the Twisted Nether”. That is not just to increase people’s reading time. It is an explicit indication that you need the Twisting Nether on the board in order for those powers to work.
When you play Sargeras from hand, its Battlecry opens a portal, as also indicated on the card. That portal is called The Twisting Nether. So that is the card that needs to be on the board in order to use Sargeras’ powers.
If a minion (any minion, not just Sargeras) is summoned by any means other than playing from hand and paying the mana cost, then their Battlecry does not trigger. So in the case of Sargeras, summoning it by Voidcaller’s Deathrattle, or Bane of Doom’s conditional effect, you will not get a Twisting Nether and, indeed, the powers are useless. This is by design, not an oversight.
Oh and BTW, Bane of Doom did not summon Sargeras from your deck into the battlefield. Bane of Doom summons a random demon, not a random demon from your deck. In other words, you just received a random Sargeras, and still had your own copy in the deck.

I really wish people would start reading their cards.
And I really wish the team in charge of the premade deck did that instead of building a deck that cheats out Sargeras just to confuse players
Kinda stupid then that all the powers are related to the Battlecry, and it wont let you skip the powers and use the card like a regular card… its bad card design either way.
