I know all that’s being discussed these days is how to beat ramp druid. But for me, I struggle so much playing against quest hunter. I tend to like playing more minion-based decks, so when i come against a quest hunter, the only strategy i can think of is to not play minions into their spells to prop their quest. But… then i have no endgame. I just feel helpless. I understand the main strategy would be to “not play minion-based decks”. But Im not one to always just play all spell decks and watch each other play solitaire.
I’m don’t play a lot and I’ve never made legend, so my experience is somewhat limited. Any tips out there? Thanks!
Perhaps look into a nice deathrattle deck.

Yeah, i thought of that. Sadly there arent any viable deathrattle decks out there right now.
Could go for a quest Priest deck, that techs a bit more healing.
they lose to minions. ramp druid destroys quest hunter. paldin destroys quest hunter. i dont know why quest hunter is so popular. even if it high rolls its still not like its super fast. its good against slower control and combo type decks but thats about it

Libram paladin destroys it even when being minion deck.
Aggro druid with average luck overwhelm them (or go wide and wait for t5 buff to avoid wipe from secrets)
And if you really want to absolutely obliterate quest hunter, go play ramp druid. It’s auto concede matchup for hunter
Its good enough. Depends on the meta pocket. If you see tons of ramp druids and paladins, do not even touch that deck but it is kinda solid vs other meta decks with some very favourable matchups and unless you get smashed by rng heavily, it can beat everything except like 2-3 decks.
not actually true.
with the exception of ramp druid, q hunter does well vs stuff that doesnt put pressure on board and folds if you put pressure on board.
it does well vs small minions, but that does eat resources, but it does horrible vs tall minions.
so, stuff that can put heavy minion pressure all together, like libram paladin, handlock, and even ramp druid (particularly the token variant) is good vs them. Stuff like aggro duid is good vs them. And etc.

Thanks @Shroud, that actually makes sense. I was looking at it the wrong way before and trying to avoid playing minions so they could not complete their quest. Playing big minions is the way to go. Appreciate the feedback.
So what happens when this guy loses his mind because he stops running into quest hunter… right after setting up his “kill qhunters deck”
Its not often i run into quest hunter (maybe 1 of 10 games), but i just have always felt completely hopeless when i do run up against them. I dont plan to stop playing the types of decks i like going forward just to counter quest hunter.
Deny them chip damage from the few minions they do field. Try to create turns where you play multiple minions at once to make it awkward to clear them all at once. Deny honorable kills by limiting 2 hp minions on board. Don’t give them a free turn to play tavish. Make sure you pressure especially on the turn they want to play Tavish. They really do fall over to consistent minion pressure.

Beast, Ramp, and Spell Druids perform well against it. Buff and Librarm Paladin, too. I’d say to play your minions, because that brings you closer to your own win condition. That’s how your deck wins. I cannot comment on Spell Druid, however; I haven’t played it.
If you hold back minions, they just go face anyway. And by holding back your minions, they hold back their minion targeting spells. I don’t really see a reasonable workaround except to carry on per usual.

I found that a deathrattle control priest wins against that deck most of the time. Heal yourself as much as you can with hero power and renew, play lightspawn elemental on turn 6. Keep resurrecting it with amulet of the undying and kill it yourself with your spells if you have to. They run out of gas eventually, you just have to outheal their damage.
Get armor.
Then get more armor and even more armor.
The absolute worst thing I’ve seen playing quest hunter was someone managing to get some minions to stick on the board, then played Robes of Protection. I had dead hand after dead hand.
Minions with odd HP makes triggering their most powerful card (Dragonbane Shot) a huge headache.
Priests generally are rough for this deck to deal with.
It’s usually because it’s cheap, accessible, and has a simple gameplan. Not necessarily about it being good. A majority of players on average are not that skilled at any given game being played.
Well first you buy packs to create controll warrior, then stack up armor every turn
Or play a deck that’s actually favored against Quest Hunter…
