I like ele mage. Is it on ladder? I had not heard.
But this deck? Time Warp? Should be removed from HS. it has fouled the water long enough.
Wild is a giant mess when it comes to broken interactions.
Yes, I agree Time Warp mage is bs. Should get nerfed.
But so should the bs Priest deck that draws its entire deck for free because of radiant elemental and otks you.
So is the mine rogue otk deck.
So is the Druid otk bs.
All of those decks kill you on turn 5 pretty consistently.
The entire format is just hyper combo otk or hyper aggro. Thereâs almost nothing in between. No tempo, no mid range, hardly any control⌠just straight up combo decks or aggro.
The mode is just a lost cause. At this point, itâs so broken you canât really play the mode and expect balance. If youâre playing the mode, you just need to accept that itâs broken and realize complaining is useless.
Wild is also never going to get better. With each expansion, it gets more and more broken. The already broken decks get stronger.
They canât. *
Not to be disrespectful, it has been and will not change.
well, then I am probably done with the game, because no matter what mage gets in Standard, if it wins, then it gets nerfed. Not a little, mind you: Killed.
And I cannot help noticing that team 5 saw fit to kill every other viable mage style in Wild as well, so its not exactly true that they never touch wild.
They certainly made an exception for mage.
I hate to say it man, but you sounding like the kid that gets upset at the ballpark and says â[word for a fastener that isnt a nail] you guys, Im going home.â and then walks away taking the ball. I feel youâve over invested (emotionally) into the one class. Relax man. if Baskin Robbins had to cater to you only ever wanting cookies n cream ice cream for the last 10 years and eventually one day you go in and they are out of stock on it⌠its rather silly to have such an attachment to the flavor that you swear off all of baskin robbins. lol
Are you not winning and enjoying wild with the elemental deck?
You arenât gonna beat the bs decks, but neither is anything else except other bs decks.
well playing only one class for ten years does tend to make you invested.
and no need to apologize:)
I do complain about the treatment of mage.
But I can demonstrate what I speak of, unlike the players here saying everything is rigged, for instance:)
my issue is the over reliance on legendarys filling out over quarter or more of decks and ive always been vocal of that.
Go try twist mage out?
Yeah its fun. I cant go above diamond ten with it, but its fun.
Why would they not? Ice barrier is a classic mage spell, and mage have always run minions along with spells. No minion was a specific deck type that required particular cards in rotation to work.
Technically, arcane missiles had RNG and ice lance damage was conditional. As in, even in classic RNG and conditionals existed. Other random and conditional cards were added in the first few expansions (e.g the 2 mana portal spell that gave you a random minion⌠I remember it because it was in the recent portals tavern brawl). This didnât just start with that unnamed Team 5 dev you often blame.
As for why RNG and conditions exist⌠do you really want them not to? I mean the game replay you posted. Imagine if the opponent had less RNG and conditions, and could just speed their way to waygate or whatever thing they needed consistently.
Itâs not either or. There are mage curve out decks still. They may not always win against a non-curve deck, but then again the RNG clown mage decks donât beat everything either.
As an example of curve out decks, in standard, many decks (usually rainbow and/or excavate) run and want to play early drops: snake oil dude, sludge dude, excavate cards and their treasures. They are like the modern equivalents to playhing mana wyrm, leper gnome, kirin tor mage, maybe unironically water elemental⌠you could even count mirror image for tokens.
They want to curve out so that they at minimum donât lose board and protect Jainaâs face, surviving until mage reaches her big direct damage bombs (e.g Sif, the modern sorcerer+antonidas). But on a good day (like say, with extra minions via cosmic keyboard, skellies from spooky) mage might even win board and the board does most of the work in winning.
Well, I just want to play something like the elemental deck that is straight forward and doesnât lose to time warp after playing all day.
Mage had that with secret. It was fast, and you either won or lost straight up.
Team 5 intentionally killed it. and now all wild has for mage at diamond or higher, is time warp.
But rogue has at least 4 decks. That is the result of years of bias, whether intentional or not.
my guy
they donât balance around wild
they donât balance around wild
they donât balance around wild
if i say it three times, maybe the words will penetrate your thick, lead filled skull.
yes, they threw wild players a bone with the occasional patch which nerfs the aggressively OP decks of the meta (which donât pretend secret mage wasnât strong, it had turn 3/4 lethals), and caverns of time exists (mostly for twist), but wild isnât intended to be playable as in a balanced meta. Eternal formats never are made for that. They are made for people to look at their shiny old cards since they have sunk cost fallacied themselves (and just removing the cards would probably kill a lot of old playersâ interest in the game when standard was first introduced)
rogues are closer to what mage is NOW, with random spells and minions
Shamans are closest to what mage is NOW as well, because itâs OTK deck
I suggested Pally and Sludgelock when they were strong, as they play by the curve, and are pure tempo decks, but he didnât listen
Now that boat has sailed.
Weâll see what the next expansion brings, but by the looks of it, only Hunter seems to be playing the curvestone
I would say the level of rng and conditions in spell casting has increased exponentially since these spells.
I know that others enjoy this amount of rng. Or; at least someone does.
It just isnât for me.
I donât like playing it, and I dislike losing to it.
If it were meme tier, I would have no problem with it.
Iâm just irked that itâs the only thing available for top tier in Wild mage.
just in general, this seems to be the case. Every other deck is either discoverstone or a janky half-combo deck. A lot of people like this. Some people have been left behind in 2015.
You may need to address the emotional aspect rather than the logical aspect?
I am playing elemental tempo mage now.
I like it just fine. It just isnât quite good enough to hit Legend with easily.
I do listen to you, most of the time.
I just am not going to craft an entire deck from scratch. Too expensive and I donât have the dust.
Trolls gonna troll.
Use the flags and scroll on by.
My emotions are quite fine, thanks.
The guy you replied to says Iâm a troll, and yet follows me around, remarking on every single thing I say, even though i canât read it, as he is ignored.
Perhaps you should worry about his emotions?
There is no viable deck other than Quest mage at or above diamond in Wild.
If team 5 does not balance around wild, then why make the decision to nerf secret mage in Wild?
Seems a bit arbitrary to me.
because it was a massive outlier and had 60% winrate, and had the whole community in outrage for years?
Unlike quest mage, which is annoying, but doesnât have 60% winrate across the board.
Usually they only nerf wild stuff that both is broken OP and has a lot of attention on it (or breaks the game in unintended ways)
