Time to remove the score display from BG

Yeah losing points at 4th place in the lousy 7000k bracket is just a joke.

It is a game where skill accounts for about 10% of the variance. Why on earth does a game based almost exclusively on luck require a visible score board?

Wait…i thought 1-4 was technically a win… how are you losing points in 4th? Did i miss an update in the 3 months I’ve not played BG cause it’s trash?

You can lose MMR if you tie for 4th with the 5th (and/or 6th, 7th, and so on) places.

Never understood how it determines rank in ties.
2 people get knocked out but one gets placed 5th and loses MMR and the other gets placed 4th and gains.

Probably depends on MMR of everybody else involved. If you are facing a lobby of all other people with lower MMR than you, then you are expected to score a lot higher - after all, you are technically considered better than them by score.

rank in ties is based on the placement in the game before that last round began.

Are you sure you were 4th in the first place?
Because I never lost points being 4th.

it can happend if you die at the same time as other players

Well being 4th and dying at the same time as other players but having more lp than them before dying should give different points in the first place. So I don’t see any problem with that.

You don’t get “different points because of placement” if you die at the same time as others. If you tie 4th/5th, you get 4.5th place points. (which will be slightly different for different players, based on starting MMR and lobby weight). Hell, the “4th place player” may lose more points than the “5th place player”, based on starting MMR.

I do think the placement names should be updated so that if you get 4th/5th, it reads either 5th or 4th/5th for consistency. If you get solo 4th place, you will only lose points if you’re at very high MMR (13k+), because those players are usually in lobbies with much lower MMR players (you can easily match against 13k+ MMR players at 10k MMR, but at 7k MMR, you are playing against a much smaller spread of MMRs).

I agree with removing the score. I’m a competitive person, and am a very sore loser.
Having a no-rank version of BG would be great. BGs are fun, but I get too angry if I don’t get a solid top 4 haha.
